Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oregon?
The most active H-1B visa sponsors in Oregon's consulting sector include the Big Four accounting and advisory firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all of which have Portland offices. Technology consultancies serving Intel's Hillsboro operations also file H-1B petitions regularly. Boutique management and IT consulting firms in the Portland metro area appear in DOL Labor Condition Application records as well, though sponsorship frequency varies by firm size and project pipeline.
Which cities in Oregon have the most consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of consulting H-1B sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, regional advisory offices, and technology clients. Hillsboro, located west of Portland, generates demand through its semiconductor industry cluster, particularly around Intel. Beaverton and Lake Oswego also host consulting employers, but sponsored roles outside the greater Portland metro are uncommon in this industry.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in consulting generally applies to specialty occupation roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the position. In Oregon, this includes management consultants, IT and systems consultants, strategy analysts, financial advisory professionals, and engineering consultants supporting the semiconductor or clean technology sectors. Generalist roles where any degree field is accepted are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B approval.
How do I find consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface consulting H-1B sponsorship roles in Oregon without sifting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. Given that Portland is Oregon's primary market for sponsored consulting work, focusing your search there and setting alerts for new postings in professional services will give you the most relevant results.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for H-1B consulting sponsorship?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa requirements, but a few local factors are worth understanding. Many consulting engagements in Oregon involve client sites at Intel's Hillsboro campus or Nike's Beaverton headquarters, which can raise H-1B worksite compliance questions if your LCA lists a different primary location. Employers must file an amended or new H-1B petition if your work location changes materially, so consulting roles with frequent client rotations require careful LCA management from your sponsoring employer.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B consulting jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
