Which staffing companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oregon?
Several national staffing firms operating in Oregon have H-1B sponsorship histories, including TEKsystems, Insight Global, Staffmark, and Apex Group. These companies primarily place technology and engineering professionals with client employers across the Portland metro and Beaverton areas. Sponsorship decisions depend on individual client requirements, role complexity, and whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines.
Which cities in Oregon have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the largest concentration of staffing H-1B sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its technology, healthcare, and financial services sectors. Beaverton and Hillsboro follow closely, largely because of the Intel campus and supporting tech suppliers in the Silicon Forest corridor. Salem and Eugene have smaller but active staffing markets, particularly in healthcare-related placements.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Oregon?
Staffing roles that qualify for H-1B sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the position. In Oregon, this commonly includes software engineering, data analytics, civil and electrical engineering, financial analysis, and clinical or healthcare IT roles. General administrative or generalist staffing positions rarely meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oregon by employer, role type, and city. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can browse verified sponsorship opportunities directly. Focusing your search on Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro within the staffing category will return the most relevant results for Oregon-based placements.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in staffing?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but staffing agencies operating here must comply with Oregon's wage and hour laws, which can affect how prevailing wage obligations are calculated and documented in Labor Condition Applications. Oregon's strong union presence in certain sectors may also influence how staffing contracts are structured, which can affect sponsorship eligibility for specific placements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
