Which staffing companies in Utah sponsor H-1B visas?
Several national staffing firms with Utah offices have a track record of H-1B visa sponsorship, including TEKsystems, Apex Group, Insight Global, and Robert Half. These companies operate primarily in Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes area, placing workers in technology, finance, and healthcare roles. Sponsorship decisions are made case-by-case and depend on the role, candidate qualifications, and business need.
Which cities in Utah have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City is the primary hub, hosting the largest concentration of staffing firms and their corporate clients across technology, finance, and healthcare. Provo and Lehi, within Utah's Silicon Slopes corridor, are secondary markets with strong demand driven by software companies and biotech employers. Ogden has a smaller but active market tied to manufacturing and logistics staffing.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Utah?
H-1B sponsorship in the staffing industry generally applies to specialty occupation roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Utah, this commonly includes IT staffing positions such as software engineer, data analyst, cybersecurity specialist, and network architect, as well as finance and accounting placements. Generalist recruiting or administrative staffing roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international job seekers who need H-1B visa sponsorship. You can filter directly for staffing and recruiting roles in Utah to find positions at companies with a documented history of sponsoring H-1B workers. This saves significant time compared to manually screening postings that may not offer sponsorship for international candidates.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in the staffing industry?
Utah's Silicon Slopes concentration means many staffing H-1B roles are tied to technology clients, so positions are often project-based or contract-to-hire, which can affect the nature of the H-1B petition. Staffing agencies filing H-1B petitions for workers placed at client sites must document the employer-employee relationship carefully, as USCIS scrutinizes third-party placement arrangements. Consulting an immigration attorney before accepting a staffing-sponsored H-1B offer is advisable.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
