Smaller markets like Farmington and Rio Rancho also appear in DOL LCA filings for technical roles.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in New Mexico?

Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship through staffing firms in New Mexico?
New Mexico's economy is heavily influenced by federal government contracting, national laboratories such as Sandia and Los Alamos, and the energy sector. Staffing firms placing H-1B workers with federal contractors must also confirm that client site security clearance requirements are compatible with the worker's status, since some positions require U.S. citizenship regardless of visa type. U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
