Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Pennsylvania?
The Big Four firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, KPMG, and Ernst & Young, all have offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh and have historically sponsored E-3 visas for accounting professionals. Regional firms such as BDO and Grant Thornton also operate in Pennsylvania. Large corporations with in-house accounting departments, including healthcare systems like UPMC and Penn Medicine, are additional sources of E-3 sponsorship in the state.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia accounts for the largest share of accounting E-3 opportunities in Pennsylvania, driven by its concentration of professional services firms, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters. Pittsburgh is the second-largest market, supported by finance, healthcare, and energy sector employers. Smaller markets like Allentown and Harrisburg offer more limited but still present opportunities, particularly within regional accounting firms and state government contractors.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include external auditor, tax associate, financial analyst, management accountant, and forensic accountant, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. The E-3 specialty occupation standard requires that a specific degree be a normal entry requirement for the role. General bookkeeping or data-entry positions that accept any degree or no degree typically do not meet that threshold.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search, filtering job listings by visa type and state so you can browse accounting roles in Pennsylvania where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Rather than sifting through general postings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces positions relevant to Australian accountants, covering firms in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and across the state.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship?
Pennsylvania does not impose state-level licensing requirements that affect E-3 eligibility itself, but CPA licensure in the state requires passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy education requirements. Australian accounting qualifications are not automatically recognized, so candidates pursuing CPA designation should review credit transfer options early. Employers in heavily regulated industries like healthcare and insurance, which are prominent in Pennsylvania, may have additional compliance expectations for accounting hires.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
