Which insurance companies in Pennsylvania are known to sponsor E-3 visas?
Erie Indemnity Company in Erie, Lincoln Financial Group in Radnor, Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, and Cigna (with significant Pennsylvania operations) have all filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis, so the same company may sponsor for an actuarial analyst position but not for a general claims adjuster role.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia is the dominant market, home to major insurers, reinsurers, and insurance consulting firms concentrated in the Center City and suburban Main Line corridor. Pittsburgh has a smaller but active insurance employment base, particularly in risk management tied to its financial services sector. Radnor and Wilmington-adjacent suburbs in southeastern Pennsylvania also host several insurance holding company headquarters with professional hiring activity.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field are most likely to meet the specialty occupation standard. Actuarial analyst positions (requiring actuarial science or mathematics degrees), underwriting analysts, risk management consultants, data scientists in insurance pricing, and compliance officers with finance or law backgrounds commonly qualify. General claims handling or customer service roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation threshold.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is the most direct option, as the platform filters specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship jobs and lets you search by state and industry. For Pennsylvania insurance roles, filter by state and the insurance category to see current openings from employers who have indicated E-3 sponsorship willingness. Reviewing Labor Condition Application disclosure data from the Department of Labor can also help identify which Pennsylvania employers have filed LCAs for insurance roles historically.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Pennsylvania is a heavily regulated insurance market overseen by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, which means many compliance and regulatory affairs roles require familiarity with state-specific filing requirements. Some positions may also require Pennsylvania insurance producer licensure, which is separate from your visa status and involves passing a state licensing exam. Employers in Philadelphia's insurance corridor often work with large employer immigration counsel, which can streamline the LCA and sponsorship process compared to smaller regional carriers.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
