Which healthcare companies sponsor Green Card visas in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania's largest health systems are among the most active Green Card sponsors in the state. UPMC, Penn Medicine, Jefferson Health, Temple Health, and Geisinger Health System have established immigration sponsorship programs and regularly file EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for qualifying employees. Academic medical centers affiliated with University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, and Drexel University also sponsor international researchers and clinical faculty.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh account for the majority of healthcare Green Card sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia's dense concentration of academic medical centers, hospital networks, and life sciences employers drives consistent sponsorship demand. Pittsburgh's medical corridor, anchored by UPMC and Carnegie Mellon-affiliated research institutions, generates strong activity in clinical and research roles. Harrisburg, Allentown, and Hershey (home to Penn State Health) also see regular sponsorship hiring.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
Roles that require specialized education and licensure are most commonly sponsored. Physicians, surgeons, and subspecialty hospitalists are frequently sponsored under EB-1A or EB-2 categories. Registered nurses and allied health professionals are often sponsored under EB-3. Clinical researchers, biomedical engineers, pharmacists, and advanced practice providers with graduate-level training are also common sponsorship candidates at Pennsylvania health systems and academic medical centers.
How do I find healthcare Green Card sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters healthcare roles in Pennsylvania by Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of general postings, you can search directly for employers actively sponsoring Green Card petitions in healthcare. Migrate Mate surfaces positions from health systems, academic medical centers, and research institutions across Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and beyond, making it easier to target roles that match your visa category.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for healthcare Green Card sponsorship?
Pennsylvania requires state licensure for most clinical roles, and employers typically want candidates who are already licensed or in the process of obtaining licensure before sponsoring a Green Card petition. PERM labor certification, the first step in most EB-2 and EB-3 cases, requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available, so timing your application with active hiring needs matters. Pennsylvania's high density of teaching hospitals can also create EB-1A and NIW pathways for physicians and researchers with a strong academic or publication record.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card healthcare jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
