Which distribution and wholesale companies sponsor Green Card visas in South Carolina?
Companies with significant distribution infrastructure in South Carolina that have sponsored Green Card petitions include Sysco, HD Supply, Michelin North America, and various third-party logistics providers operating near the Port of Charleston and in the Upstate manufacturing corridor. Larger national wholesale distributors with regional distribution centers in the state are generally more likely to have established immigration sponsorship processes than smaller local operators.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most distribution and wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region host the highest concentration of distribution and wholesale employers due to their proximity to I-85 and established manufacturing supply chains. Charleston is a strong second, driven by port-adjacent logistics and wholesale trade activity. Columbia, as the state capital and a central distribution hub, also has a meaningful share of sponsoring employers in the sector.
What types of distribution and wholesale roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in South Carolina?
Roles that commonly qualify include supply chain managers, logistics coordinators, procurement specialists, operations managers, and distribution center directors. Positions requiring a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field are more straightforward to sponsor through EB-2 or EB-3 categories. Skilled trade roles in warehousing and wholesale can also qualify under EB-3, though the sponsorship process and requirements differ from professional-track positions.
How do I find distribution and wholesale Green Card sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters distribution and wholesale roles in South Carolina where employers are open to Green Card sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of general listings, you can search directly by industry, visa type, and state to surface relevant opportunities. Migrate Mate also provides immigration context alongside job listings, which is useful when evaluating whether a specific employer is likely to support a full Green Card petition.
Are there state-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in South Carolina's distribution and wholesale sector?
South Carolina does not have state-level immigration programs, so Green Card sponsorship follows standard federal processes through USCIS. However, the state's growing port economy and foreign direct investment, particularly from European manufacturers in the Upstate, mean some employers have more experience with employment-based immigration than their size might suggest. PERM labor certification timelines from the Department of Labor apply uniformly regardless of state, so South Carolina-based applicants face the same federal processing queues as anywhere else.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card distribution & wholesale jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
