WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB
- This job is a member of the Inspection Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
- Responsible for supporting the American Airlines Main Base Quality Control Department.
- This job is also responsible for overseeing the proper administration of the American Airlines Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, Major repair reporting, receiving, training and rejection/buy back.
- Monitors compliance with the approved AA Maintenance Program and applicable CFRs.
- Monitors work in progress for workmanship also for compliance with regulatory requirements and American Airlines policies, standards and procedures.
- Supervises inspectors in the Quality Control department ensuring proficiency in inspection programs including RII, NDT, major repair reporting, receiving, training, and rejection/buy back.
- Ensures audits are performed on completed tasks to ensure physical work accomplished matches the provided instructions.
- Documents and reports any deficiencies to American Airlines Manager Quality Control.
- Collaborates with other departments to build strong dependable relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training.
- 5 years’ experience supervising maintenance or inspection personnel in a Part 121 or Part 145 maintenance environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- FAA Airframe and Power plant licenses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years’ experience direct or supervision of NDT programs.
- 5 years’ experience air carrier heavy maintenance inspection.
- Aircraft Training, Airbus A319/320/321/330, Boeing 737/757/767/777/787, Embraer E190.
- Proficient in parts receiving procedures and processes including Sceptre receiving.
- Familiar with back shop procedures and policies including teardown reports, work orders, repairs, and return to service.
SKILLS, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- FAA Airframe and Power plant licenses.
- Knowledgeable of NDT/Bore score procedures.
- Knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations including aircraft/power plant inspection techniques and procedures.
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicable.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Self-motivated.
- Maintains a professional demeanor in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
