Position Summary:
The Production Lead supports the Production Supervisor as the first line of leadership for production team associates. The Lead ensures that all functions within their assigned department are completed daily, on time while minimizing costs. Additionally, the Lead ensures that associates are well trained to achieve and exceed our high quality and production standards. This position may be required to monitor multiple areas as needed to achieve the daily/weekly production requirements. This position works under general supervision, interacting with the Production Supervisor and/or the Production Manager several times a week to receive up to date production guidance and feedback. Most non-routine activities will require a supervisor’s advance approval. The Production lead should have the ability to efficiently manage a very diverse team of associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and monitor the daily activities of associates within assigned department/area to ensure area meets performance goals (quality/accuracy, production, cost, safety, constant cleanliness)
- Inspect quality of associates’ work to ensure that products being processed and shipped meet GoldenHome’s high quality standards
- Demonstrate emotional maturity and respect for diversity in interactions with associates
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on area performance for leadership
- Ensure all associates are trained thoroughly on the production process in their assigned area
- Ensure all associates follow safety policies; report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately to Production Supervisor or Production Manager
- Coach/train associates for performance success
- Identify process improvements/areas of opportunity to improve production efficiency
- Follow all known safety procedures and utilize good operational, loss prevention and safety judgment always
- Perform associate job duties as needed
- Be able to brief Production Supervisor or Manager at any time on anything production related in your assigned area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess the learning capacity and maturity to receive and apply training; willingness to assist with other functions outside of initial assigned area to achieve or exceed production objectives
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English and Spanish
- Ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
- Possesses the dexterity to utilize writing utensils (pen/pencil), calculators, small hand-held tools, manual razors and other mechanical/electrical equipment without assistance
- Working understanding of basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook software programs and ability to operate an office computer without assistance
- Professional maturity to work within a respectful, diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
- Consistently demonstrate a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
