Which sports companies in Texas sponsor work visas?
Major Texas sports organizations that sponsor visas include the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros. University athletic departments at UT Austin, Texas A&M, Rice, and TCU also sponsor international staff. Additionally, sports marketing agencies, athletic training facilities, and golf course management companies throughout Texas regularly sponsor H-1B visa and other work visas for specialized roles.
What visa types are most common for sports jobs in Texas?
H-1B visas dominate for analytics, marketing, and business operations roles in Texas sports organizations. O-1 visas are common for coaches, trainers, and performance specialists with extraordinary ability. P-1 visas serve individual athletes and entertainment performers at sporting events. University sports programs often use J-1 visas for international coaching exchanges and research positions in sports science and kinesiology departments.
How to find sports visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for sports visa sponsorship positions across Texas. The platform filters jobs by visa sponsorship history and industry, making it easier to identify opportunities with the Dallas Cowboys, Houston sports teams, university athletic departments, and emerging esports companies in Austin. Focus on roles in sports analytics, marketing, player development, and facility management where international expertise is valued.
Which Texas cities have the most sports visa sponsorship opportunities?
Dallas leads with professional teams like the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and FC Dallas, plus corporate sports marketing roles. Houston follows with the Texans, Astros, Rockets, and Dynamo. Austin offers growing opportunities in esports, university athletics at UT, and sports technology companies. San Antonio provides options with the Spurs and collegiate programs, while Arlington hosts significant sports venue management opportunities.
Are prevailing wages competitive for sports roles in Texas?
Texas sports organizations typically meet or exceed federal prevailing wage requirements, with major professional teams offering competitive compensation packages. University athletic departments often provide additional benefits like housing allowances and professional development funds. The state's lower cost of living compared to California or New York makes Texas sports positions particularly attractive for international professionals, especially in cities like Austin and San Antonio.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sports jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
