Search Aerospace & Defense Jobs in TexasAerospace & Defense Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which aerospace and defense companies sponsor E-3 visas in Texas?
Several of Texas's largest defense employers have established E-3 sponsorship patterns, including Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Raytheon Technologies in McKinney and Dallas, L3Harris in Greenville and Waco, and Bell Textron in Fort Worth. Boeing maintains a significant presence in San Antonio through defense maintenance programs. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends on the specific role, hiring manager, and company policy at the time of application.
Which cities in Texas have the most aerospace and defense E-3 sponsorship jobs?
The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex concentrates the highest density of aerospace and defense employers in Texas, anchored by the Naval Air Station Fort Worth and a deep network of prime contractors and suppliers. San Antonio is significant for defense maintenance and aviation, particularly around Joint Base San Antonio. Houston supports aerospace roles tied to NASA's Johnson Space Center and its contractor ecosystem, including Boeing, Jacobs, and KBR.
What types of aerospace and defense roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Texas?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In aerospace and defense, qualifying positions commonly include systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers, software developers, avionics specialists, and program or project managers. Roles in quality assurance, structural analysis, and defense systems integration also frequently meet the specialty occupation standard, provided the position requires a specific degree field rather than any bachelor's degree.
How do I find aerospace and defense E-3 sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship eligibility, letting you search aerospace and defense roles in Texas without sorting through positions that don't support the visa. You can filter by city, company, and job function to focus on employers with active LCA filing history in the defense and aerospace sector. Searching directly by industry and location on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify Texas employers currently hiring E-3 candidates in this field.
Are there any Texas-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in aerospace and defense?
Defense contractors in Texas frequently require security clearances for engineering and technical roles, which presents a practical limitation for E-3 holders. Most U.S. security clearances require permanent resident status or U.S. citizenship, meaning clearance-dependent positions are generally inaccessible on a nonimmigrant visa. Roles that do not require a clearance, such as unclassified engineering programs, commercial aerospace work, or positions on foreign military sales contracts, are more accessible for E-3 applicants. Confirming clearance requirements before applying saves time in the process.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 aerospace & defense jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
