ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager, New Tower Development is responsible for driving new tower development opportunities through strategic partnerships with wireless carriers, municipalities, tower developers, and other infrastructure stakeholders. This role works closely with Field Sales teams to identify, develop, and secure new tower projects that align with market demand and corporate growth objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The successful candidate will build and maintain strong relationships with carrier real estate and network teams, develop innovative product offerings for public and private sector partners, and lead negotiations that result in long-term, revenue-generating tower leases. This position requires a blend of business development expertise, carrier industry knowledge, relationship management, and strategic thinking.
- Partner with Field Sales teams to identify and advance new tower development opportunities with national and regional wireless carriers.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase carrier commitments and improve lease-up opportunities on new tower developments.
- Create and promote tower development solutions for municipalities, utility entities, small-to-medium-sized tower developers, and other infrastructure partners.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with carrier real estate, RF engineering, and network planning organizations.
- Lead negotiations and secure carrier lease agreements that support new tower build business cases.
- Evaluate market opportunities and provide recommendations on tower development priorities and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Real Estate, Engineering, Legal, and Construction to advance projects from initial opportunity through site activation.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to strengthen market presence and identify emerging opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and carrier deployment strategies to support business growth initiatives.
- Develop presentations, proposals, and business cases for internal leadership and external customers.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Telecommunications, Real Estate, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business development, carrier sales, telecommunications, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success developing strategic customer relationships and driving revenue growth.
- Experience working with wireless infrastructure providers, tower companies, or carrier organizations.
- Knowledge of new tower development lifecycle, site acquisition, permitting, and construction processes.
- Established relationships with wireless carriers, municipalities, and industry partners.
- Experience supporting national or multi-market deployment programs.

Where You Will Work
To optimize collaboration, relationship building, and key stakeholder engagement, this role aligns to a 4:1 hybrid model which is in office Monday-Thursday with the option for remote work on Fridays. Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Up to 40-50% travel required to support customer engagement, market development activities, and industry events.

Compensation
This position is eligible to participate in a highly leveraged sales/commission incentive program designed to reward achievement of business development and growth objectives, as well as participation in the company’s annual equity incentive awards program. The base pay range offered for this position is $100,000-$120,000 annually. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, and internal alignment.
