Overview
As the Planning Lead on the account, you are responsible for the creation of the strategic direction a brand will take in communications to achieve their business goals. You are responsible for helping to strategize, produce and interpret the key cultural, consumer and category signals required to design the best possible holistic connections plan to deliver on client objectives. This work should be held up as best practice both within the agency and externally. You have a passion for people, brands, ideas and a constant curiosity for not just how creative and media can interact together in more cohesive way, but how brands can use media to behave differently. You believe that brands can & should mean something in the world, and are driven by the desire to understand how data translates into meaningful consumer behaviors and actions. As a result, you think of communications across the full ecosystem of paid, owned and earned connection points, creating consumer experiences that are consistent and cohesive with the strategic direction.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years in integrated comms or planning role in media, creative, innovation or communications discipline (digital, content, invention, social, activation)
- 5+ years of previous experience managing and leading integrated teams
- Ability to think differently: creative & adaptive, entrepreneurial, independently minded; deeply immersed in cultural understanding and driven by a desire to know more the world / to better understand people’s motivations & behaviors in the shifting landscape
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate persuasive and cohesive presentations and points-of-view that ultimately close the sale
- Knowledge and understanding of client business/current issues and marketplace trends/emerging trends
- Track record of strength in business development and financial account growth
- Ability to foster an optimal environment for idea generation and creative innovation
- Demonstrated experience with Consumer Research and Tracking data both quantitative and qualitative
- In-depth experience with integrated marketing programs including strategic development, analysis and implementation
- Relationship builder, with a demonstrated strong written communication, project management, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ambiguous environment to meet deadlines
- Creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit
Responsibilities
- Maintaining excellent client relationships & understanding of the clients' key business and challenges
- Being considered a valuable contributor during client meetings with the ability to challenge others’ opinions in the right forum/manner
- Delivering innovative thinking that inspires leading edge solutions and award-winning breakthrough work - best in class work as standard (internally & externally)
- Arming the client team with knowledge & expertise to speak confidently about the strategic direction where required
- Measurable client & strategy business KPIs
- Identify, develop & oversee the delivery of unique and innovative strategies to deliver the client’s desired results
- Translate complex client asks and deliverables into simple and cohesive stories that are easy to digest and sells our thinking in the best light possible
- Demonstrate a good understanding of consumers & their behaviors, uncovering new opportunities for brand growth
- Clearly demonstrate how the strategy delivers on the business need and focus on results and measurement
- Bring fresh thinking & inspiration into the Strategic Process to help the teams springboard to better Strategic thinking
- Deliver executable, relevant, on brand platforms/rally cry with the potential for fame/award entry
- Write cohesive communications architectures that deliver on the platform/ rally cry and give guidance for how the brand will behave in the world
- Train, guide & assist the Strategy & Client teams in development and packaging of ideas
- Positively collaborate with IAT and independent creative partners, contributing to their/our client work
- Use qualitative and quantitative comms channel & cultural tool research to develop applicable insights into the consumer connection with the brand
- Lead ideation team sessions in conjunction with the planning team and relevant disciplines to generate creative & compelling communications ideas
BUSINESS GROWTH
- Contribute to new business success (local market)
- Participation in new business as required, leading Strategy
- Identify and contribute to new ways to grow organic client business by upselling and cross-selling agency product
- Possess an unparalleled understanding of agency product and the intersection with the strategic discipline
COMPENSATION
This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
Compensation Range
$120,000—$230,000 USD
