Which media & entertainment companies sponsor visas in Utah?
Major visa sponsors include EA Sports (gaming), Disney's Salt Lake City operations, Ancestry.com (digital content), and various film production companies. Local gaming studios like Chair Entertainment and production houses working on projects filming in Utah's scenic locations also provide sponsorship opportunities for international creative professionals.
Which visa types are most common for media & entertainment roles in Utah?
H-1B visas are common for technical roles like software developers in gaming and digital effects artists. O-1 visas serve artists, directors, and performers with extraordinary ability. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying positions, while L-1 visas support transfers within multinational media companies.
How to find media & entertainment visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Use Migrate Mate to browse media & entertainment positions specifically filtered for Utah employers who sponsor work visas. Focus on companies involved in Utah's film industry, gaming development in Salt Lake City, and digital content creation. Many positions align with the state's growing tech sector and entertainment production incentives.
Which cities in Utah have the most media & entertainment sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City leads with gaming companies, digital studios, and corporate media operations. Park City offers opportunities with film festival-related businesses and production companies. Provo has emerging tech-entertainment companies, while other areas benefit from location filming and post-production work serving the broader entertainment industry.
What are the prevailing wage considerations for media & entertainment roles in Utah?
Utah's prevailing wages for media roles are generally lower than California or New York markets, but this can benefit visa applications by reducing employer costs. Gaming and digital content positions often command competitive wages, especially in Salt Lake City's tech corridor, making sponsorship more feasible for employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored media & entertainment jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
