Which transportation companies in Utah sponsor F-1 OPT visas?
Several Utah-based transportation and logistics employers have a track record of hiring OPT workers, including C.R. England, a major trucking and logistics company headquartered in Salt Lake City, and companies tied to the Utah Inland Port Authority's growing freight network. Large national carriers and third-party logistics firms with Utah operations also regularly hire OPT candidates for operations, engineering, and supply chain roles.
Which cities in Utah have the most transportation F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and its surrounding metro, including West Valley City and Murray, account for the largest share of transportation F-1 OPT positions in Utah. Ogden and Provo also have activity, particularly in freight, rail, and supply chain operations connected to Utah's manufacturing corridor. The Salt Lake City International Airport area generates additional demand for air cargo and logistics roles.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in Utah?
Roles that align with STEM-designated fields tend to offer the longest OPT authorization windows, including supply chain engineering, logistics analyst positions, transportation planning, and operations research. Non-STEM roles in dispatch coordination, fleet management, and freight brokerage can qualify for standard 12-month OPT but do not extend to the 24-month STEM extension, so degree field alignment matters when evaluating job fit.
How do I find transportation F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and lists transportation F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Utah with employer and visa details included. Filtering by state and visa type surfaces relevant roles without requiring you to manually screen each posting. For Utah transportation specifically, focusing on Salt Lake City-based logistics and supply chain employers on Migrate Mate gives you the most targeted results.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for F-1 OPT candidates in transportation?
Utah's Inland Port Authority is actively expanding freight and logistics infrastructure in the Salt Lake City area, which is increasing employer demand for transportation professionals. However, F-1 OPT authorization is tied to your degree field, not the state you work in, so candidates should confirm their role qualifies under their major before accepting an offer. STEM extension eligibility depends on both the employer filing an E-Verify-compliant extension and the role matching your degree.
