INTRODUCTION
Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
We are seeking a senior professional to join us as an OFE (Owner Furnished Equipment) Project Manager for the Power Island equipment scope of supply. The Venture Global OFE team is responsible to ensure that the properly specified and configured Power Island, Pre-treatment and Liquefaction Equipment is delivered on-time. The Venture Global OFE team is also responsible for the performance, interface and correct functionality of the Power Island, Pre-treatment and Liquefaction Equipment.
This position is located in Arlington, VA.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role blends project delivery, client partnership, and team leadership. Here's what you'll do:
- Lead a portfolio of electric distribution and control design, utility interconnection control, and black start control projects to support multi facility LNG production
- Own scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across multiple concurrent projects
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships through clear communication and consistent delivery
- Coordinate work across designers, engineers, and technical leads, ensuring teams have clear priorities and direction
- Oversee project financials, including forecasting and change management
- Ensure work complies with industry standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory expectations
- Support permitting and third-party coordination efforts (municipalities, DOTs, joint-use utilities) as needed
- Review deliverables for quality and constructability before submittal
- Provide construction support and help resolve design-related issues during build
- Mentor technical leads, help shape program strategy, and support growth
Your work may span several ongoing initiatives, such as:

- Single/Multi-Site Black Start control design

- Voltage Optimization (VO) initiatives focused on system performance and efficiency
- Distribution Automation (DA) projects, including applicable system upgrades and grid modernization
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Enjoy managing multiple innovative projects at once across multiple sites
- Are comfortable balancing demands of client expectations, internal delivery, and financial performance
- Like working closely with technical teams without needing to be the technical designer yourself
- Value clear processes, strong standards, and continuous improvement
- Want to build long-term client relationships rather than jumping from project to project
Here's what you'll need:
- Project management experience supporting electric distribution or utility infrastructure programs, or other engineering/construction related spaces
- Experience managing scope, schedule, and budget in a consulting or utility-facing environment
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with utility clients
- Strong leadership and team management skills, potentially including leadership of other PMs
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and keep work moving in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in forecasting and financial management
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technical innovations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Nice to have:
- Prior experience working with large investor-owned electric utilities (IOU)
- Familiarity with distribution design workflows, permitting, and construction support
- Experience managing program-based or unitized work

- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and supplier stakeholders
- Monitor supplier performance and project progress against plan
- Support status reporting, forecasting, and executive updates
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations
- Support field visits and site coordination activities as required
QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience Level: 8+ years of relevant utility project management experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting electric distribution programs
- D&C experience utilities strongly preferred

Which energy companies sponsor E-3 visas in Virginia?
Dominion Energy is Virginia's largest utility and has an established track record of sponsoring specialty occupation roles including engineers, analysts, and grid operations professionals. Federal energy contractors concentrated in Northern Virginia, such as Leidos and SAIC, also sponsor E-3 workers in energy and power systems roles. Offshore wind developers active in the Hampton Roads region have added additional sponsoring employers in recent years.
Which cities in Virginia have the most energy E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Richmond is the primary hub, driven by Dominion Energy's corporate headquarters and its broad technical workforce. The Northern Virginia corridor, including Arlington, McLean, and Tysons, concentrates federal energy contractors and consulting firms supporting Department of Energy programs. Norfolk and Virginia Beach are emerging centers for offshore wind development, making Hampton Roads a growing area for energy engineering and project management roles.
What types of energy roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify are those meeting the E-3 specialty occupation standard, requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Virginia's energy sector, this typically includes power systems engineers, electrical engineers, energy analysts, grid operations specialists, environmental compliance officers, and renewable energy project managers. General labor, technician, or trade roles without a degree requirement do not qualify regardless of the employer's size or sponsorship history.
How do I find energy E-3 sponsorship jobs in Virginia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, so you can search directly for energy roles with E-3 sponsorship in Virginia without sifting through positions that don't support the visa. Migrate Mate also surfaces employer Labor Condition Application filing history, which lets you see which Virginia energy companies have actively sponsored E-3 workers before, giving you a more informed starting point than a general job search.
Are there any Virginia-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the energy sector?
Virginia's proximity to federal agencies, including the Department of Energy and related contractors, means some energy roles may involve security clearance requirements, which can complicate or limit E-3 eligibility since clearances are generally not available to non-U.S. citizens. Applicants should confirm with the prospective employer whether a clearance is required before investing in the application process. Offshore wind roles in the Hampton Roads area are an alternative where clearance requirements are typically absent.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 energy jobs in Virginia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
