Its success is built on people who come together, help each other, and work toward one goal: ending every project with a happy client. The design team plays a central role, working closely with fabrication, project management, and installation & dismantle (I&D) teams to adapt designs as requirements change, apply lessons from past projects, and pair great design with production efficiency. They are seeking an experienced, senior-level Exhibit Designer with a strong portfolio of creative, built work. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a drive to learn and grow, and the ability to own a project from concept through completion. This role offers a clear path to growth into a management position as head of the design department, based on experience, demonstrated skills, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Create custom designs for tradeshow, museum, and corporate clients
- Develop dynamic design proposal packages to support client sales pitches
- Participate in client sales pitches
- Coordinate internally with account managers and directly with clients from planning through project execution
- Produce detail drawings for shop construction and client approval
- Collaborate with shop personnel during planning and construction phases
- Partner with the I&D department on new designs and builds to ensure successful on-site installation
- Independently manage individual projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exhibit Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field
- 5–7 years of experience designing and detailing museum exhibits, tradeshow exhibits, and permanent displays
- Experience with 3D rendering and CAD software
- Knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction and installation techniques
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and a consistently high quality of work
- Portfolio showcasing creative examples of built designs
Preferred Experience
- AutoCAD and 3ds Max
- Interest in growing into a design leadership or management role
