INTRODUCTION
As the WNTO Partnership Tax Senior Associate, you’ll demonstrate and maintain technical expertise in matters related to Partnership (Subchapter K) tax, as well as provide technical training and thought leadership in the Partnership (Subchapter K) tax area for your GT professionals and variety of clients – all with the resources, environment and support to help you excel. You’ll collaborate with WNTO leadership and staff and consult with internal and external clients on the technical aspects of tax-efficient structuring of partnership formation, disposition, and restructuring transactions, and on operational matters, including capital account maintenance and partnership allocations, and prepare technical memoranda on issues arising in such consultations because together is how we succeed. From day one, you’ll be empowered by great technology, processes, and a collaborative and thoughtful team to continue to extend your technical knowledge, work across new projects, and provide excellent client service, and help you achieve more, confidently.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your day-to-day may include:
- Preparing Excel spreadsheets to demonstrate the application of key Subchapter K concepts, such as 704(b) capital accounts, 704(c) allocations, outside tax basis, inside basis adjustments, disguised sales, and 751(b) hot asset sales/exchanges
- Facilitating client understanding of Partnership (Subchapter K) tax development implications
- Promoting collaboration between service lines and industries to provide high quality client service
- Supporting thought leadership efforts and embracing our marketing and sales programs
- Engaging in productive interaction and teaming with office, regional and national leadership
- Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney or Enrolled agent
- Two years of Partnership (Subchapter K) tax consulting experience at a major public accounting or law firm, with a preference for candidates with experience at a National Tax Office and/or IRS National office
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet preparation and interpretation
- Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed. Expect 10% travel
COMPENSATION
The base salary range for this position in the Metro DC - Arlington location only is between $109,296 to $121,176.
