Which hospitality companies sponsor visas in Washington?
Major visa sponsors include luxury hotel chains like Fairmont Olympic Hotel and Grand Hyatt Seattle, resort operators in Olympic National Park and Mount Rainier areas, conference centers in Bellevue and Spokane, and casino resorts like Tulalip Resort Casino. Seattle's growing tech industry has also increased demand for corporate hospitality services, creating additional sponsorship opportunities.
How to find hospitality visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for hospitality positions in Washington that offer visa sponsorship. Filter by cities like Seattle, Bellevue, and Spokane, and focus on management roles, culinary positions, and specialized service positions at hotels, resorts, and event venues that have sponsored international workers previously.
Which cities in Washington have the most hospitality sponsorship jobs?
Seattle leads with luxury hotels, conference facilities, and corporate hospitality venues, followed by Bellevue's business hotel sector and Spokane's convention center district. Resort areas near Olympic National Park, Mount Rainier, and the San Juan Islands also offer seasonal and year-round sponsorship opportunities, particularly for management and specialized culinary roles.
What visa types are most common for hospitality roles in Washington?
H-1B visas are common for management positions and specialized roles requiring degrees, while H-2B visas cover seasonal resort work in Washington's mountain and coastal destinations. O-1 visas apply to renowned chefs and hospitality professionals with extraordinary ability. J-1 visas serve internship programs at major hotel chains and resort properties.
Do Washington's prevailing wages affect hospitality visa sponsorship?
Yes, Washington's $16.28 minimum wage and higher prevailing wage rates in Seattle and Bellevue can make sponsorship more expensive for entry-level positions. However, this creates opportunities for international candidates in management and specialized roles where wages justify sponsorship costs, particularly in luxury hotels and high-end resort properties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitality jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
