How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Inside Sales Professional
Target SaaS and enterprise tech employers
Software and enterprise technology companies sponsor Inside Sales Professionals far more consistently than other industries. These employers file LCAs regularly and have established immigration processes, making them significantly more likely to support H-1B or E-3 applications.
Emphasize your degree field in applications
H-1B eligibility for sales roles hinges on the position requiring a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Highlighting a business, marketing, or communications background directly helps employers and immigration attorneys build a stronger specialty occupation case for your petition.
Ask about sponsorship before the final interview
Raise visa sponsorship early, ideally after initial interest is confirmed but before a formal offer. This prevents wasted time on both sides and signals professionalism. Framing it factually rather than apologetically tends to produce a more direct and useful response from hiring managers.
Prioritize companies with prior LCA filings
Employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications before are far easier to work with than first-time sponsors. They understand the process, have legal counsel in place, and are less likely to back out due to administrative concerns when your start date approaches.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsoring employers
Not every Inside Sales posting comes with sponsorship, so filtering matters. Migrate Mate lists roles where employers have confirmed willingness to sponsor, saving you the time of applying broadly and following up individually on visa support before even getting an interview.
Prepare documentation linking your degree to the role
For H-1B petitions, USCIS scrutinizes whether an Inside Sales role genuinely requires a specific degree. Having an employer-written job description that ties responsibilities like forecasting, solution selling, or CRM strategy directly to your academic background strengthens the specialty occupation argument considerably.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does an Inside Sales Professional role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the role is defined. Generic sales positions often fail the specialty occupation test because USCIS requires the job to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Roles tied to technical products, enterprise software, or financial services, where the employer can demonstrate that a degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a standard industry requirement, have a stronger case. A well-drafted job description is critical.
Which visa types are Inside Sales Professionals most commonly sponsored for?
H-1B is the most common path for non-Australian nationals, though the lottery makes it uncertain. Australians have the E-3 as a more reliable alternative since it has no lottery and a near-unlimited annual cap. L-1 visas apply if you're transferring within a multinational company. O-1 is possible but requires demonstrated extraordinary achievement, which is uncommon for sales roles without significant industry recognition.
Do I need a specific degree to get sponsored as an Inside Sales Professional?
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to demand a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Business administration, marketing, communications, and finance are the most defensible fields for Inside Sales positions. A completely unrelated degree weakens the petition. If your degree doesn't align, your employer's immigration attorney may need to argue equivalency through work experience, which adds complexity and risk to the application.
How can I find Inside Sales jobs where employers are willing to sponsor?
The challenge is that most job postings don't state sponsorship availability upfront, so you end up filtering manually after applying. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this situation, listing roles from employers who have confirmed sponsorship willingness. Focusing your search there means you're spending time on applications that can actually lead somewhere, rather than discovering the sponsorship issue at the offer stage.
What H-1B approval rates look like for sales-related roles?
Approval rates for sales positions are lower than for engineering or IT roles because specialty occupation eligibility is harder to establish. USCIS issues Requests for Evidence at higher rates for business and sales job titles. However, approval rates improve significantly when the employer provides detailed documentation, the role involves a technical or enterprise product, and the applicant holds a directly relevant degree. Working with an experienced immigration attorney on the job description makes a measurable difference.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Inside Sales Professional jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
