Position Overview
Supports production, fabrication and customer order fulfillment activities at a multi-shift facility by and through the delivery of processes governing the warehouse functions during operations. Will maintain all warehouse functionality within individual area and scope of responsibility.
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. (These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.)
- Leads warehouse team to accomplish organizational responsibilities for assigned area.
- Coordinates with warehouse management in developing procedures as required.
- Communicates with inventory control on-related transaction issues insuring that we are processing materials to established procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assigns work projects to department members based upon individual skills and competencies. Serves as an information resource to members of the group in providing direction on the completion of assignments.
- Promotes an atmosphere of continuous improvement of work processes and job knowledge areas through the fostering of training and follow up programs to members of the group.
- Conducts annual performance appraisals of members of the group. Provides feedback on individual work performance. Utilizes various coaching and mentoring techniques to motivate group members.
- Participates and shares in discussions with the warehouse supervisor and warehouse personnel on the status of projects, short term and long-range goal setting for the department.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Position requires regular and predictable attendance.
- Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.
Who you are
- Expert knowledge of all procedures and processes associated with scope of responsibility.
- Expert knowledge of SAP, ATS, Access (Warehouse Apps), Excel and Word as it applies to Material Handling applications and functionality.
- Expert knowledge of the concepts, business principles and practices of physical distribution, inventory control and warehousing management as it applies to Material Handling, production/ fabrication applications, functionality and constraints.
- Expert knowledge and proven success of various coaching, developmental, motivational, interactive management techniques effectively leading a team environment that communicates effectively, forms positive relationships internally and externally. Exhibits leadership ability. Completes performance evaluations, creates and maintains level certification program, assists in creating and maintains training matrix and schedule for all employees, and ensures that the corrective action process is effective in driving expectations.
- Expert knowledge in taking prompt and proper action within authorized scope meeting the cost effectiveness, Quality control, performance standards, deadlines, goals and directives of the department through a proactive approach to the business. Utilizes a root cause analysis approach to problem solving and takes appropriate action up to including the FOE team concept.
- Solid Knowledge and ability to manage written documentation of all procedures and processes associated within scope of responsibility.
- Skill in coordinating resources to include manpower, equipment and supplies to meet the needs of the business. This includes time off / vacation requests, daily, weekly and weekend assignments and associating record keeping.
- Skill in developing and maintaining functions of the warehouse group. This includes facilitating weekly meeting, audit process, warehouse management, safety programs. Report on the performance of the department.
- Ability to improve upon inventory / materials management processes for the business.
- Ability to communicate both in written and verbal form.
- Ability to proofread numerical information to spot and correct errors.
- Ability to perform work activities in a self-directed manner.
- Ability to respond to requests and inquiries for information in a timely fashion.
- Acceptable Training and Experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience within a multi-task, high volume manufacturing work environment with three to four years in directly supervising and managing hourly employees. Training in or exposure to the principles of ISO, FOE, Conway Principles, and Project Management is mandatory. If position will involve driving company vehicles, must submit to DMV license check. Must have/obtain a Colorado driver's license.
