About the role
We need a warehouse manager for our Sumner 3PL site. Coffee and related programs, Camelot WMS, inbound containers and outbound loads. Supervisors and a floor lead already run the shift. This job is the building: labor plan, capacity, quality programs, and the service we already promised customers.
If you like managing from an office and walking the floor once a day, skip this one. The site is small enough that you'll know the roster and the dock plan yourself.
What the job looks like day to day
- Build the weekly labor and door plan from actual volume, then staff inbound and outbound so the day finishes.
- Lead the operations supervisor, office supervisor, quality, and the floor lead. Everyone should know who owns what.
- Keep customer and quality programs in good shape — holds, lot identity, certifications, FDA and organic paperwork. We don't want audit week to be a scramble.
- Watch capacity. If we can't take more work without breaking service, you say so.
- Go after the problems that keep coming back: claims, leftover work, jobs only one person knows how to do.
- Talk to the VP and to customers when something is going to miss.
What you need to have done before
- You've managed a warehouse or 3PL site. A crew lead title isn't the same thing.
- You've built a roster and a dock plan from a volume forecast.
- You've been through customer or certification audits and kept the file current between them.
- You're decent with people and with numbers. You develop supervisors instead of doing their job for them.
- Camelot, coffee or food distribution, Spanish-speaking, and prior labor-cost responsibility help. Not required.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, days, on-site in Sumner. You'll get calls when a container or a customer issue can't wait until morning.
