Wholesale Account Executive Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a wholesale account executive in California?
Most California employers hire wholesale account executives with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field combined with prior sales or account management experience. California does not require a state-issued license for general wholesale account executive work, though roles in specific regulated industries such as alcohol distribution require familiarity with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control compliance. Candidates who build experience in inside sales or territory representative roles at California distributors or manufacturers typically move into account executive positions.
Which companies hire wholesale account executives in California?
California wholesale account executive roles are posted by JMAC Lending, Bailey Blue, and Snobbish and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. California's size and industry diversity mean openings appear across food and beverage, technology hardware, building materials, and consumer goods sectors statewide.
Which California cities have the most wholesale account executive jobs?
Costa Mesa, Los Angeles, and La Jolla have the most wholesale account executive openings in California. Los Angeles dominates due to its scale as a consumer market and its dense concentration of distribution centers and CPG regional headquarters, while the Bay Area drives demand in technology hardware and specialty goods wholesale, and San Diego anchors openings tied to biotech supplies and cross-border distribution activity.
Are there remote wholesale account executive jobs in California?
Yes, but they're rare. About 67% of wholesale account executive openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the fact that most wholesale account executive work requires in-person client visits, trade show attendance, and hands-on territory coverage. The portions of the role most amenable to remote work are internal reporting, CRM management, and account planning calls.
How can I get hired as a wholesale account executive in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an inside sales representative or sales development role at a California-based distributor or manufacturer and transitioning into field account management once you have demonstrated revenue results. Large California employers in food service distribution and consumer goods regularly bring on sales coordinators and territory associate roles that feed into account executive tracks. Building familiarity with Salesforce and completing a certified sales training program gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to companies like Sysco or regional beverage distributors without prior outside sales experience.
Where can I find and apply to wholesale account executive jobs in California?
You can find and apply to wholesale account executive jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across industries and regions. Search the listings to see what's available now, find roles that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
