Account Associate Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account associate in Michigan?
Most Michigan employers hire account associates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, communications, or a related field. No state-issued license is required for the general role, though associates working in insurance account servicing may need a Michigan Property and Casualty or Life and Health producer license issued through the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services. Building familiarity with Michigan's dominant industries, including automotive, healthcare, and financial services, strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire account associates in Michigan?
Employers hiring account associates in Michigan right now include State Farm, BDA, and VML, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's concentration of insurance carriers, regional banks, and healthcare systems means steady account associate hiring across both corporate headquarters and regional offices throughout the state.
Which Michigan cities have the most account associate jobs?
Troy, Detroit, and Alma have the most account associate openings in Michigan. Detroit leads due to its density of financial institutions, insurance companies, and corporate headquarters, while Grand Rapids draws significant hiring from its growing healthcare and professional services sectors, and Ann Arbor reflects demand tied to its university medical system and technology-adjacent employers.
Are there remote account associate jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields, since account associate work is largely desk-based and communication-driven. About 100% of account associate openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed teams. Client onboarding, CRM management, and inbound account servicing are the functions most consistently offered in remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as an account associate in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate or coordinator roles at Michigan's large insurance carriers and regional banks, which regularly run new-hire cohort programs for recent graduates. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Comerica, for example, post entry-level account service positions that build toward full account associate responsibilities. Lateral moves from customer service representative or billing coordinator roles are also common entry points. Earning a Michigan insurance producer license before applying gives candidates a clear edge when targeting insurance account roles.
Where can I find and apply to account associate jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to account associate jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current Michigan openings updated regularly. Search by city or role type to find positions that match your experience level and industry background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
