How can I get hired as a advanced practice provider in District of Columbia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a new-graduate or transition-to-practice fellowship, which MedStar Health and Children's National Hospital both offer for nurse practitioners and physician assistants entering specialty areas. Applying to primary care or urgent care settings within Federally Qualified Health Centers, which are numerous in D.C., is another concrete starting point since those organizations frequently hire new graduates. Holding an active DC license and a national board certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over those still completing the credentialing process.
