iFixit is a small giant in DIY repair. Over the last several years our online reach has exploded — we now help more than 10M people learn repair every month. Our repair guides and Q&A forum are totally free: no ads, no paywall. We sell the parts and tools to finish the job, and those tools have become a brand in their own right, sought out by professionals and DIYers at major retailers online and off.
Amazon is where a lot of those people find us first. We're looking for a Digital Advertising Specialist to own Amazon advertising channel end to end — and then help us extend what works to everywhere else we advertise.
This is a hands-on role with real budget and real accountability. You'll own a meaningful six-figure annual ad budget across Amazon US and the EU marketplaces, and you'll be measured on what it returns. We're not looking for someone to babysit an agency. We're looking for someone who wants the keys.
What you'd be doing:
- Owning strategy and day-to-day execution across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display — keyword and ASIN targeting, bid management, budget pacing, and campaign structure.
- Running Perpetua as your primary optimization platform, and knowing when to override it.
- Managing spend across Amazon US and EU marketplaces, where language, pricing, and competitive dynamics all differ by storefront.
- Owning ACOS and TACOS targets, and being able to defend a spend decision with data.
- Connecting ad performance to the things that actually drive it — listing quality, Buy Box, inventory health, review velocity, pricing. When ACOS spikes, you'll know whether it's a bidding problem or a stock-out.
- Building the reporting that tells the rest of us what's working. Clear enough for leadership, granular enough for your own daily optimization.
- Supporting new product launches with a repeatable ramp strategy, across a catalog of thousands of SKUs where search behavior is device- and model-driven.
- Thinking about incrementality, not just channel ROAS. We sell the same parts on ifixit.com and on Amazon, and we care about whether a dollar spent on Amazon grew the business or just moved a sale.
- Testing new ad formats and placements as they make sense for us — we're skeptical by default and want someone who'll tell us when something isn't worth the spend.
- Over time, extending into other paid channels — Walmart, Google, Meta, and wherever else our customers are.
As the ideal candidate, you should:
- Have 3+ years running Amazon Advertising hands-on. You've built campaigns from scratch, not just inherited and adjusted them.
- Be comfortable owning a channel without being managed to it. You'll have support, but nobody is going to check your bids for you.
- Be genuinely analytical. You can pull a bulk operations file, work it in a spreadsheet, and come back with a recommendation rather than a report.
- Understand that advertising can't fix a bad listing, and be willing to go fix the listing.
- Have opinions about campaign structure, and be able to explain them.
- Communicate clearly with people who don't live in Seller Central. Half the value of this role is translating what's happening into decisions other teams can act on—and aligning Amazon strategy with other channel objectives and priorities.
- Have meaningfully integrated AI into your day-to-day work, and be able to show us how. Not "I've used ChatGPT” - we want to hear about something you've built.
- Care about repair. We're a mission-driven company, and the people who thrive here are the ones who actually want manufacturers to stop gluing things shut.
Nice to have, but not required:
- Experience with EU marketplaces, or working across multiple languages and currencies.
- Other retail media or paid channels — Walmart Connect, Google, Meta.
- Familiarity with the Amazon Ads API, or with pulling ad data into a BI tool like Google Data Studio.
- Experience with large or technical catalogs, especially compatibility-driven ones.
