Assistant Account Manager Jobs in South Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant account manager in South Dakota?
Most assistant account manager roles in South Dakota require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers accept equivalent experience. Candidates entering insurance account management should be aware that South Dakota's Division of Insurance may require a producer license depending on specific duties. Building experience in customer service, sales support, or office coordination within South Dakota's banking, insurance, or agricultural sectors is the most direct path into the role.
Which companies hire assistant account managers in South Dakota?
South Dakota assistant account manager roles are posted by State Farm, Western Dakota Insurors, and CVS Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. South Dakota's strong insurance, healthcare, and agricultural finance sectors mean hiring tends to be consistent year-round, particularly with major regional employers headquartered in Sioux Falls.
Which South Dakota cities have the most assistant account manager jobs?
Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and Pierre have the most assistant account manager openings in South Dakota. Sioux Falls leads because it serves as the state's financial and corporate headquarters hub, home to major insurance carriers, banks, and healthcare systems, while Rapid City and Aberdeen generate openings through regional business services, agricultural finance firms, and healthcare organizations serving western and north-central South Dakota.
Are there remote assistant account manager jobs in South Dakota?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles allow. About 79% of assistant account manager openings tied to South Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and communication-driven nature of the work. Tasks like client correspondence, reporting, and CRM management are the most commonly performed remotely, while new client onboarding and in-person relationship building typically require some on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a assistant account manager in South Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a customer service or sales coordinator role at a South Dakota insurance agency, regional bank, or agricultural lender, then moving into account support after six to twelve months. Large Sioux Falls employers like Sanford Health and regional insurance agencies frequently hire entry-level client service associates as a pipeline into account management. Earning a South Dakota insurance producer license early gives candidates a measurable edge, even before accumulating direct account management experience.
