We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our team at Midwest Innovation Lab-St. Louis. Duties
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes, ensuring precise documentation for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation requirements and improve coding accuracy.
- Manage medical records with confidentiality, ensuring proper organization and secure storage of sensitive information.
- Stay updated on changes in ICD coding standards, CPT coding updates, and healthcare billing regulations to maintain expertise.
