Business Consultant Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business consultant in Florida?
Most Florida employers require at minimum a bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, or a related discipline, with many senior roles expecting an MBA. Florida does not license general business consultants through a state board, but consultants working in regulated sectors such as insurance or financial advisory must hold applicable state-issued credentials through the Florida Department of Financial Services. Building industry expertise, earning certifications such as PMP or CMC, and gaining experience through analyst or associate roles are the most reliable paths into the field.
How much do business consultants make in Florida?
Business consultants in Florida earn a median of about $88,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,520 for the lowest 10% to over $161,810 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business consultants in Florida?
Employers hiring business consultants in Florida right now include Distro, State of Florida, and solitude, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of major healthcare systems, financial institutions, and technology firms means demand is spread across both national consulting firms and large in-house strategy teams.
Which Florida cities have the most business consultant jobs?
Tallahassee, Miami, and Tampa account for the largest share of business consultant openings in Florida. Miami's concentration of multinational headquarters and financial services firms drives demand there, while Tampa's growing professional services corridor and Orlando's healthcare and hospitality sectors sustain consistent hiring across the state's other major metros.
Are there remote business consultant jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 76% of business consultant openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of much consulting work. Strategy, digital transformation, and process improvement projects are the sub-areas most commonly offered with remote or hybrid flexibility.
How can I get hired as a business consultant in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an analyst or associate consultant role, which large Florida-based employers and the Florida offices of national firms regularly fill with recent graduates. Deloitte, Accenture, and KPMG all run structured analyst programs through Florida universities including the University of Florida and the University of Miami. Lateral entry from adjacent roles such as financial analyst, business analyst, or project coordinator is also common. A relevant certification such as PMP or Six Sigma Green Belt, or a strong capstone consulting project, gives candidates a measurable edge in early-career applications.
Where can I find and apply to business consultant jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to business consultant jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly.
