Business Development Jobs in Fort Lauderdale: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development job in Fort Lauderdale?
Fort Lauderdale's strongest hiring comes from its marine and yachting industry, regional financial services firms, travel and hospitality companies, and B2B software providers clustered around Cypress Creek and the downtown core. Candidates with a demonstrated history of closing deals in any of these verticals move to the front of the line. Familiarity with South Florida's Latin American business ties is a genuine differentiator for roles targeting international clients.
Which companies hire business developments in Fort Lauderdale?
Employers hiring business developments in Fort Lauderdale right now include Wesco, AMETEK, and Dal-Tile, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is a mix of marine and logistics firms, regional banks and insurance companies, and mid-size technology providers with a strong presence along the I-95 corridor.
Are there remote business development jobs in Fort Lauderdale?
Yes, though many roles require in-person client work, particularly in marine, hospitality, and relationship-driven financial services. About 38% of business development openings tied to Fort Lauderdale are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remote segment concentrated in SaaS and B2B technology companies that serve national or international markets from a Fort Lauderdale base.
How can I get a business development job in Fort Lauderdale with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path locally is a sales development representative or inside sales role at one of Fort Lauderdale's growing SaaS or fintech firms, where structured training programs are common. Marine industry companies, particularly in Fort Lauderdale's boating and yacht services cluster, also hire entry-level account coordinators who develop client relationships over time. A network built through the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance or local chambers adds real traction.
