Business Development Lead Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development lead in Vermont?
Vermont does not require a state-issued license to work as a business development lead. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, combined with progressive sales or account management experience. Many Vermont employers in financial services and healthcare technology value candidates who have worked in regulated industries and can demonstrate consultative selling skills. Building a portfolio of closed deals and revenue outcomes strengthens any application significantly.
How much do business development leads make in Vermont?
Business development leads in Vermont earn a median of about $81,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,180 for the lowest 10% to over $132,120 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business development leads in Vermont?
Vermont business development lead roles are posted by CVS Health, BRS, and RXO and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's concentration of financial services firms, healthcare networks, and clean energy companies means business development leads often work at the intersection of complex regulatory environments and high-growth markets.
Which Vermont cities have the most business development lead jobs?
Colchester, Montpelier, and Vermont have the most business development lead openings in Vermont. Burlington drives the largest volume given its role as the state's commercial and technology hub, home to financial services firms, health tech companies, and university-affiliated startups, while surrounding communities like South Burlington and Montpelier generate additional openings tied to state government contractors and established regional employers.
Are there remote business development lead jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than many fields, since business development lead work is largely relationship-driven and desk-based rather than requiring physical presence. About 42% of business development lead openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer comfort with distributed sales teams. Roles focused on national account expansion or SaaS partnership development tend to be the most remote-friendly.
How can I get hired as a business development lead in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a business development lead role from an adjacent position such as sales development representative, account coordinator, or inside sales associate. Vermont employers in healthcare technology and financial services, including companies affiliated with UVM Health Network and National Life Group, regularly hire associates into structured growth tracks. Completing a Salesforce or HubSpot certification, building a record of quota attainment in any sales role, and targeting Vermont companies with formal sales development programs gives candidates without lead-level experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to business development lead jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to business development lead jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
