Business Development Lead Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development lead in Florida?
Most business development leads in Florida enter through a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, followed by several years in sales, account management, or a client-facing role. Florida does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates who build experience in a specific industry vertical, such as healthcare services, technology, or construction, and demonstrate measurable pipeline results move into lead-level positions most reliably.
How much do business development leads make in Florida?
Business development leads in Florida earn a median of about $81,650 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,080 for the lowest 10% to over $140,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business development leads in Florida?
Employers hiring business development leads in Florida right now include American Heart Association, Fl PWS, and L3Harris, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of defense contractors, regional healthcare systems, and technology firms makes it one of the more active states for this role outside the major national tech hubs.
Which Florida cities have the most business development lead jobs?
Miami, Orlando, and Tampa account for the largest share of business development lead openings in Florida. Miami draws volume from its density of financial services, international trade, and healthcare companies, Tampa benefits from a growing technology corridor and corporate headquarters presence, and Orlando is driven by hospitality technology, simulation, and defense contracting employers based near the metro.
Are there remote business development lead jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business development work is relationship-driven and often conducted over phone, video, and travel rather than from a fixed office. About 50% of business development lead openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many employers are comfortable with distributed commercial teams. Roles focused on inbound account growth or national accounts tend to be the most remote-friendly.
How can I get hired as a business development lead in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a business development representative or inside sales role at a Florida-based employer, where you build pipeline experience before moving into a lead title. Large Florida employers in healthcare services, SaaS, and commercial real estate regularly hire associates or entry sales staff and promote from within. Building familiarity with Salesforce and earning a recognized sales methodology certification gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against more experienced applicants.
Where can I find and apply to business development lead jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to business development lead jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and metros. Find roles that fit your experience and target market and apply directly to each one.
