Business Operations Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business operations manager in Florida?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field, followed by progressive experience in operations or management roles. Florida does not require a state-issued license for business operations managers, though roles in regulated industries like healthcare or financial services may require industry-specific credentials. Certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or Certified Manager from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers strengthen candidacy considerably in the Florida market.
How much do business operations managers make in Florida?
Business operations managers in Florida earn a median of about $101,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,670 for the lowest 10% to over $226,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business operations managers in Florida?
Employers hiring business operations managers in Florida right now include University of Miami, Broward Health, and CarMax, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of healthcare networks, logistics firms, and corporate regional headquarters means demand stays consistent across both private-sector employers and large nonprofit health systems throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most business operations manager jobs?
The cities with the most business operations manager openings in Florida are Miami, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. Miami's corporate and international trade activity, Orlando's healthcare and tourism infrastructure, and Tampa's growing financial services and logistics sectors drive most of the volume, while secondary markets like Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale contribute steadily through regional headquarters and distribution operations.
Are there remote business operations manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business operations management is heavily desk-based and analytical rather than tied to a physical site. About 52% of business operations manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how often coordination, reporting, and process oversight can be handled off-site. The functions most commonly offered remotely include data analysis, vendor management, and financial reporting, while roles requiring direct facility oversight tend to remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a business operations manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an operations coordinator, administrative manager, or project coordinator role at a large Florida employer, then building toward a manager title through internal promotion. Healthcare systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida frequently hire operations associates and administrative coordinators as stepping stones into management. Earning a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or PMP certification signals readiness without requiring years of experience, and Florida's hospitality and logistics sectors often promote from within faster than other industries.
Where can I find and apply to business operations manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to business operations manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and metro areas. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
