Regional Operations Director Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional operations director in Florida?
Most regional operations directors in Florida progress through site-level management roles before stepping into a regional seat. Florida employers typically look for candidates who have managed multiple locations within the state, making experience in Tampa, Miami, or Orlando markets particularly valuable. No state-issued license is required for this role, but a bachelor's degree in business or operations management and demonstrated P&L ownership are the most consistent hiring criteria across Florida employers.
How much do regional operations directors make in Florida?
Regional operations directors in Florida earn a median of about $101,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,670 for the lowest 10% to over $226,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional operations directors in Florida?
Employers hiring regional operations directors in Florida right now include DaVita, Whataburger, and Women's Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of multi-unit hospitality, healthcare, and retail chains means regional director roles here often carry responsibility for some of the highest-volume locations in a company's national portfolio.
Which Florida cities have the most regional operations director jobs?
Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tampa hold the most regional operations director openings in Florida. Miami's dense concentration of hospitality, logistics, and healthcare employers drives volume there, while Tampa and Orlando function as major distribution and corporate hub cities that house regional headquarters for national retail and food service brands operating across the Southeast.
Are there remote regional operations director jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Regional operations directors are typically required on-site across multiple locations, making the role inherently field-based rather than desk-bound. About 0% of regional operations director openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and where flexibility exists, it most often applies to administrative oversight and reporting functions rather than the in-market leadership duties that define the role.
How can I get hired as a regional operations director in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a district or area manager role first, then building toward regional scope. Large Florida employers like Darden Restaurants, Publix, and AdventHealth regularly promote from assistant manager and department supervisor positions into multi-unit roles. Targeting operations coordinator or operations analyst roles at Florida-based regional headquarters gives exposure to the P&L and compliance work that hiring managers look for when filling director seats.
Where can I find and apply to regional operations director jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to regional operations director jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target market, and apply directly to each position.
