Clinical Project Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical project manager in Mississippi?
Most clinical project managers in Mississippi start with a bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing, or public health field, then gain experience as a clinical research coordinator or study monitor. Mississippi does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold credentials such as the Society of Clinical Research Associates certification or the Project Management Professional credential. Experience at Mississippi academic medical centers or contract research organizations is the most common entry point.
How much do clinical project managers make in Mississippi?
Clinical project managers in Mississippi earn a median of about $78,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,840 for the lowest 10% to over $140,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical project managers in Mississippi?
Companies currently hiring clinical project managers in Mississippi include Baptist Memorial Health Care, HealthTrust Workforce Solutions, and University of Mississippi Medical Center, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's academic medical centers, regional health systems, and CROs with trial site networks in the state are among the most consistent sources of openings.
Which Mississippi cities have the most clinical project manager jobs?
Jackson, Flowood, and Southaven have the most clinical project manager openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads because it is home to University of Mississippi Medical Center and a cluster of regional health systems that run active trial portfolios, while Hattiesburg and Tupelo draw openings through their own hospital networks and outpatient research programs tied to larger multi-site studies.
Are there remote clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most clinical roles. About 18% of clinical project manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and coordination-heavy nature of the work. Protocol development, vendor oversight, data review, and regulatory document management are the tasks most commonly performed fully remotely, while site initiation visits and monitoring typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a clinical project manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a clinical research coordinator at a Mississippi hospital or academic site, then building toward a project management role. University of Mississippi Medical Center and Baptist Memorial Health Care periodically post entry-level coordinator and research assistant roles that do not require prior trial experience. Earning a clinical research coordinator certification through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals strengthens any application, and candidates with a nursing or pharmacy background often move laterally into trial coordination roles more quickly than those without direct patient care exposure.
Where can I find and apply to clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to clinical project manager jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current Mississippi openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
