Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
For H-1B eligibility, USCIS must classify your role as a specialty occupation requiring a specific bachelor's degree. Project Program Manager positions at Clayco typically require degrees in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture, so align your resume and transcripts to that standard before applying.
Target Clayco's design-build project pipeline
Clayco runs large-scale design-build programs across industrial, commercial, and mission-critical sectors. Applying to roles tied to active portfolio projects, rather than generalist openings, puts you in front of hiring managers who have budget and urgency to move candidates through sponsorship quickly.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization before your first interview
If you're on an F-1 visa, Clayco will need to verify your work authorization dates before extending an offer. Confirm your OPT end date and whether STEM OPT extension applies to construction management programs, so there are no surprises during the offer stage.
Ask directly about LCA filing timelines during offer negotiation
Your start date depends on DOL certifying the Labor Condition Application before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition. In construction, project start dates are often fixed, so negotiate a start date that gives Clayco's legal team at least 30 days of processing buffer.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Project Program Manager roles at Clayco
Sponsorship-eligible construction roles aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to filter Clayco openings by visa type and role, so you're only spending time on positions where sponsorship is confirmed and available.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment history if targeting a Green Card
Clayco has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for project management staff. PERM requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were available, so document your specialized experience, prior project scale, and any certifications like PMP or DBIA that strengthen the prevailing wage analysis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Clayco sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Clayco has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards when tied to a specific degree field such as construction management or civil engineering. If you're targeting this role, confirm the degree requirement in the job description matches your educational background before applying.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Clayco?
You can apply directly through Clayco's careers portal or find sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type. When applying, tailor your resume to the project scale and delivery methods Clayco uses, such as design-build and integrated project delivery, and address your work authorization status early in the process to avoid delays.
Which visa types does Clayco commonly use for Project Program Manager roles?
Clayco has sponsored H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for project management functions. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management roles. F-1 candidates with STEM OPT extensions in construction management or engineering disciplines may also be eligible for longer authorization periods before H-1B sponsorship is needed.
What qualifications does Clayco expect for Project Program Manager positions?
Clayco's Project Program Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects. Certifications such as PMP or LEED can strengthen your profile. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree field must align specifically with the role's requirements, not just general management experience, to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Project Program Manager at Clayco?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B sponsorship through the annual lottery means petitions must be filed in March for an October 1 start date. TN and F-1 OPT transfers can move faster, often within a few weeks of an offer. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 can take one to several years depending on your country of birth and DOL processing times. Aligning your offer and start date to these windows is essential.
