Work you'll do/Responsibilities
As a Data Management Lead, you will oversee enterprise data management governance/quality, master data management (MDM), and cataloging standards. In this role, you will serve as the strategic steward of enterprise data assets for clients, ensuring high data quality, robust governance, and seamless accessibility across their organizations. In this critical client-facing leadership role, you will bridge the gap between technical data engineering teams and client business stakeholders to design and enforce Master Data Management (MDM) frameworks, data catalogs, and data lifecycle policies. You will drive initiatives that transform raw, high-volume transactional data into secure, reliable, and actionable assets, enabling advanced analytics and supporting clients' enterprise-level strategic objectives.
- Pipeline Design & Source-to-Target Availability: Oversee the end-to-end design, governance, and integrity of complex ETL/ELT data ingestion pipelines. Ensure seamless, fault-tolerant data availability and transparent data lineage from disparate source systems to target analytical repositories (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift).
- Lead the data management strategy for high-volume, high-velocity transactional data. Ensure that client data architectures are optimized for massive scale, rapid data retrieval, and operational resilience.
- Establish, enforce, and scale enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance within client environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of MDM solutions and data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) to help clients maintain a single, trusted source of truth across complex enterprise ecosystems.
- Architect and deploy automated data quality monitoring workflows; define critical data elements (CDEs), track metadata, and establish KPIs to proactively identify and remediate data anomalies before they impact downstream availability.
- Mentor data engineers and analysts while partnering tightly with client stakeholders (product, finance, and operations) to translate their specific business requirements into scalable, robust data architectures.
- Lead data management initiatives within an Agile framework, managing sprint backlogs, capacity planning, and project delivery timelines on behalf of clients.
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide clear guidance to others.
- Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and/or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management.
- Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes.

- Deep proficiency in advanced SQL and relational database architecture, with a strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., Kimball, Inmon) and modern data stack technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority, build consensus on data definitions, and translate highly technical pipeline and architecture concepts for non-technical executive client stakeholders.

Frame credentials around PMP and consulting delivery
Deloitte's hiring teams for Project Management Leads look for PMP certification or equivalent, plus demonstrated delivery experience in professional services environments. Translate your project governance work into consulting-specific language before applying.
Target Deloitte's federal and commercial practice lines
Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice and its commercial consulting arms both hire Project Management Leads at different volumes. Filtering open roles by practice area helps you prioritize applications where sponsorship approvals have historically moved faster.
Browse visa-sponsored openings on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Project Management Lead roles at Deloitte that are open to H-1B, E-3, or H-1B1 visa candidates. This narrows your applications to positions where sponsorship is already expected, saving time on outreach.
Understand how Deloitte structures the LCA process
Before Deloitte files your H-1B petition, it must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets prevailing levels for your worksite location. Knowing this timeline helps you negotiate a realistic start date with your recruiter.
Address specialty occupation fit in your application materials
USCIS scrutinizes whether Project Management Lead roles constitute a specialty occupation requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Tailor your resume to emphasize the technical or industry-specific degree requirements Deloitte lists in the job description.
Clarify visa type eligibility before the offer stage
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas depending on your nationality. Australian citizens should flag E-3 eligibility early in conversations with the recruiting team, since it bypasses the H-1B lottery and often moves to approval faster.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Leads?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Project Management Lead roles and has a centralized immigration team that manages the process internally. Because H-1B sponsorship is subject to the annual cap and lottery, your recruiter will typically align your start date with the October 1 fiscal year entry date. Premium processing is available to reduce USCIS adjudication time to around 15 business days.
How do I apply for Project Management Lead jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal. Roles are posted by service line and geography, so filtering by practice area helps narrow results. If you need visa sponsorship, flag that early in the recruiter screening call. You can also use Migrate Mate to surface Project Management Lead openings at Deloitte that are specifically open to sponsored candidates, which removes guesswork about sponsorship eligibility upfront.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Project Management Lead roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualified Project Management Leads. H-1B is the most common path for candidates from most countries. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3 visa, which has a separate annual allocation and no lottery. H-1B1 covers Chilean and Singaporean nationals under their respective free trade agreements with the United States.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for a Project Management Lead position?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information systems, or a related field, along with PMP certification or equivalent credentials. Consulting industry experience is weighted heavily, particularly managing large enterprise or government engagements. For visa purposes, your degree field should align closely with the job's defined duties, as USCIS will assess whether the role meets the specialty occupation standard under the H-1B or E-3 classification.
How do I understand the timeline from offer to visa approval at Deloitte?
Once Deloitte extends an offer, the process typically begins with DOL LCA certification, which takes seven to ten business days under standard processing. USCIS then adjudicates the H-1B petition within three to six months under regular processing, or roughly 15 business days with premium processing. For E-3 applicants, consular processing in Australia is often faster than USCIS adjudication. Build at least three to four months of lead time into your expected start date.
