About The Team
The Emerging Markets team promotes growth in local economies by building meaningful partnerships with merchants across underdeveloped, high-opportunity markets. We focus on T4–T5 geographies—one of DoorDash’s highest company priorities, representing over 40% of remaining restaurant opportunities as we expand beyond core cities and suburbs. Our team creates first connections with SMB restaurants and retailers, helping them grow and monetize through on-demand delivery.
About The Role
We are looking for a motivated Account Executive (EMAE) to join our Emerging Markets org. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle and bringing high-potential SMB merchants in emerging markets onto the DoorDash platform. This role is fast-paced, highly outbound, and quota-carrying. You will manage a dedicated lead list of ~225 merchants, spend the majority of your day cold calling, and drive a structured, repeatable process to pitch, consult, and close new partners on our platform. You will report to an Inside Sales Manager who is committed to your success, offering ongoing coaching, development, and pathways for growth. We expect this role to be flexible, with some time in office and some time remote. You will need the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through training, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Transform how small and mid-size merchants in emerging markets grow using DoorDash’s platform
- Manage a high-volume, outbound-led workflow, including extensive daily cold calling
- Work a structured pipeline of ~225 assigned leads and own a quarterly sales quota
- Creatively engage merchants and build trusted relationships across lower-density geographies
- Master sales tools and outreach channels to drive lead conversion
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with clear daily and weekly activity expectations
- Participate in Prep Kitchen, DoorDash’s structured inside-sales training program
- Grow your sales career through continuous coaching and performance development
We’re excited about you because…
- You have at least 1+ years of outbound sales experience, ideally in a short-cycle environment
- You have proven experience running full sales cycles from prospecting → discovery → pitch → close
- You have demonstrated success in high-volume outreach and pipeline generation
- You have strong cold-calling skills and comfort working under pressure
- You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- You consistently hit or exceeded sales targets
- You embody DoorDash’s Core Values and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- You have a coachable mindset — you welcome feedback, learn fast, and adapt with ease
Nice-to-Have-Skills
- Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, or restaurant environments
- Prior outbound cold calling experience with activity-based KPIs
- Exposure to the on-demand delivery, logistics, or restaurant-tech ecosystem
- Multilingual skills to support diverse merchant audiences

Frame Your Sales Metrics for U.S. Employers
DoorDash evaluates Business Account Executives on pipeline management and closed revenue, not just activity volume. Translate your previous quotas and attainment figures into U.S.-standard metrics before applying, so hiring managers can benchmark you against domestic candidates immediately.
Target DoorDash's Mid-Market and Enterprise Teams
DoorDash structures its Business Account Executive org by merchant segment. Roles focused on mid-market restaurant groups and enterprise grocery chains tend to have longer hiring cycles, giving you more lead time to align your visa sponsorship conversation with a formal offer.
Clarify Sponsorship Eligibility Before Final Rounds
Raise your visa status early in the recruiter screen, not after an offer is extended. DoorDash's recruiting team is accustomed to sponsoring nonimmigrant workers, so asking upfront avoids surprises and confirms whether the specific role is approved for sponsorship before you invest in multiple interview rounds.
Understand How H-1B Timing Affects Your Start Date
If you need an H-1B cap-subject filing, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start date. Aligning your DoorDash offer timeline with this window matters, especially if you're coming off F-1 OPT or finishing a J-1 visa program mid-year.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Roles by Visa Type
Not every Business Account Executive posting at DoorDash is tied to an approved sponsorship budget. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered by the visa types DoorDash sponsors, so you focus your applications on roles where your work authorization is already supported.
Prepare for DOL Prevailing Wage Requirements in Your Offer Negotiation
DoorDash must certify your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location before filing an LCA. Research the wage level for Account Executive positions in your target city so you can negotiate a competitive offer that also satisfies the compliance threshold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Business Account Executives?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Business Account Executive roles. The company has an established process for nonimmigrant work visa filings across its sales organization. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your offer timing needs to align with the April registration window. Cap-exempt transfers from another H-1B employer can start sooner.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Business Account Executive roles?
DoorDash sponsors several visa categories for Business Account Executives, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 visa for Australian nationals, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in their authorized work periods. For permanent residency, DoorDash also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for eligible employees.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Business Account Executive positions?
DoorDash typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with demonstrated B2B sales experience and a track record of meeting or exceeding quota. Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce and experience managing mid-market or enterprise accounts is valued. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must align with the specialty occupation requirements USCIS applies to the role.
How do I apply for Business Account Executive jobs at DoorDash?
You can find and apply for Business Account Executive openings at DoorDash directly through Migrate Mate, which lists current roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. This lets you confirm which postings are open to sponsored candidates before investing time in the application. Once you identify a role, apply through DoorDash's official careers portal and disclose your visa status to the recruiter in the initial screen.
How do I manage the timeline between a DoorDash offer and my visa filing?
Once DoorDash extends an offer, your employer's immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically processes in seven business days. That certified LCA is required before submitting the visa petition or consular application. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period does not pause during this process, so starting conversations with your recruiter well before your authorization expires reduces scheduling pressure.
