Job Details
A Day in This Role
You start by reviewing the dispatch board and making sure today's jobs are matched to the right techs. Mid-morning, a tech calls in from the field with a tricky gate repair — you talk them through it and decide whether it needs a second set of hands. A customer escalation lands on your desk before lunch; you handle it personally and it's resolved by early afternoon. You spend the rest of the day reviewing labor hours and KPIs, coordinating with the parts team on a delayed order, and wrapping up with a quick training session for a newer technician.
THE ROLE
- Lead, coach, and support service technicians to perform safe, efficient, high-quality work.
- Schedule and dispatch service calls for dock equipment, overhead doors, gates, and related systems.
- Act as the main point of contact for service-related customer issues and escalations.
- Ensure technicians have the tools, training, and information needed to succeed.
- Monitor job progress, labor hours, and service KPIs to keep operations on track.
- Coordinate with parts, sales, and installation teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA and company compliance.
- Conduct performance reviews, training, and ongoing technician development.
- Jump in and solve problems personally when things don't go as planned — because they won't always.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What You Bring — Must-Haves
- Proven experience managing a service team (dock & door, industrial equipment, construction, or similar trades preferred).
- Strong knowledge of overhead doors, dock levelers, dock seals/shelters, gates, or related mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills — you know how to motivate people and hold them accountable.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
What You Bring — Nice-to-Haves
- NetSuite or similar ERP/FSM system experience.
- Formal safety training or OSHA certification.
- Prior experience coordinating cross-functionally with sales and installation teams.
Career Path
Strong Service Managers are frequently the first internal look when a Branch Manager opening comes up — this role is a proven stepping stone toward full P&L ownership as the company continues to grow.

Frame your resume around operational metrics
Jobot places Operations Managers into staffing environments where throughput, recruiter productivity, and fill rates matter. Quantify process improvements and team scaling achievements so hiring managers can immediately connect your background to their delivery model.
Target Jobot's internal operations openings specifically
Jobot posts a high volume of Operations Manager roles across multiple locations. Filter by internal corporate positions rather than client placements to find roles where Jobot itself would be your sponsoring employer of record under an H-1B or TN petition.
Confirm your visa type fits before applying
TN visa holders in management roles must tie their position to a qualifying NAFTA category, which can be narrow. Clarify with Jobot's recruiting team early whether the specific Operations Manager job description supports TN classification or requires an H-1B filing instead.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles
Not every Jobot Operations Manager listing leads to sponsorship. Search Migrate Mate to surface only the postings where Jobot has a documented sponsorship history for this role type, so you're not chasing openings that won't move forward.
Align your offer timeline with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS requires registration in March for an October 1 start. Ask Jobot's HR team directly whether they plan to file in the upcoming lottery cycle before you advance through final rounds.
Request LCA details before signing an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Ask Jobot to confirm the prevailing wage level assigned to the Operations Manager role so you can verify your offered salary is compliant.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Managers?
Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations Manager roles, though not every open position includes sponsorship. Because Jobot operates as a staffing firm, some postings represent client placements rather than direct internal hires, and sponsorship eligibility can differ between the two. When you apply, confirm directly with the recruiter whether Jobot would act as your H-1B petitioner.
How do I apply for Operations Manager jobs at Jobot?
Applications go through Jobot's careers portal, where you can filter by role title and location. Because Jobot posts a large volume of Operations Manager openings at any given time, use Migrate Mate to identify which listings have a sponsorship track record for this role before applying, which helps you prioritize your outreach and avoid positions that are unlikely to move forward for visa holders.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly use for Operations Manager roles?
Jobot has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for Operations Manager positions. F-1 OPT is typically used for recent graduates in a 90-day or STEM extension period. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories. H-1B is the most flexible option for longer-term sponsorship and is generally used when candidates don't qualify under OPT or TN.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for Operations Manager roles?
Most Operations Manager positions at Jobot require experience managing workflows, teams, or client delivery within a service-driven environment. Staffing industry backgrounds are frequently preferred because the role often involves coordinating between recruiters, account managers, and back-office functions. A bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field generally satisfies the specialty occupation requirement needed to support an H-1B petition for this role.
How do I plan my application timeline around visa processing?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period before your interview stage, since onboarding can take four to eight weeks after an offer. For H-1B, a cap-subject petition must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer finalized well before March registration opens. TN status can be obtained at the border for Canadian nationals, which shortens the lead time considerably.
