Align your resume to HCM sales experience
Paylocity sells HR and payroll software to accounting and finance teams. Reframe your sales background around ERP, payroll, or workforce management deals rather than generic B2B experience. Hiring managers respond to candidates who already speak the buyer's language.
Target roles with quota-carrying responsibilities
Paylocity's sponsored Sales hires tend to be quota-bearing contributors, not support or enablement roles. Filter open positions for Account Executive or Sales Manager titles, where the business case for sponsorship is strongest and the hiring timeline is more predictable.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask your Paylocity recruiter for the expected LCA certification date so you can map your start date accurately and avoid gaps in work authorization.
Sequence your OPT and H-1B transition carefully
If you're on F-1 OPT, the 60-day grace period begins the moment your employment ends, not when your OPT expires. Coordinate your Paylocity start date and I-20 end date with your DSO well before you sign an offer to prevent any lapse in authorized status.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Paylocity Sales openings
Sponsoring companies don't always flag visa support in job postings. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Sales roles at Paylocity filtered by visa type, so you're only spending time on positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for multi-round enterprise sales interviews
Paylocity's Sales interview process typically includes a mock discovery call and a pipeline review. Build a deal sheet showing closed revenue in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles, since their mid-market and enterprise segments require demonstrable experience managing long sales processes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Paylocity sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Paylocity sponsors H-1B visas and has done so for Sales positions. Sponsorship is more common for quota-carrying roles like Account Executive and Sales Manager than for supporting functions. If you're mid-process with another H-1B employer, Paylocity can file an H-1B transfer petition, which lets you start working as soon as USCIS receives it.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Paylocity?
Apply directly through Paylocity's careers portal and specify your visa status in the application where prompted. Tailor your resume to HCM or payroll software sales experience, since Paylocity sells into accounting and finance buyers. Migrate Mate also lists verified Paylocity Sales openings filtered by visa type, so you can confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying.
Which visa types does Paylocity sponsor for Sales positions?
Paylocity sponsors H-1B, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Sales roles, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. TN visa is available only to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa type depends on your nationality, degree field, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Paylocity look for in sponsored Sales candidates?
Paylocity's Sales roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field, plus demonstrated B2B sales experience. For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so the degree requirement must be directly tied to the job. Experience selling SaaS, HR technology, or payroll software meaningfully strengthens your application.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Paylocity?
From offer acceptance to an approved H-1B petition, budget at least three to six months if you're filing in the regular cap season. The DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days, and standard USCIS processing runs three to five months. Premium processing cuts the USCIS decision to 15 business days, though your employer must agree to pay for it.
