Verify Your CNA Certification Before Applying
Prime Healthcare Services requires state-certified nursing assistants. Confirm your CNA credential is active in the state where you're targeting a posting, since certification requirements vary by state and an inactive credential will stall any sponsorship conversation before it starts.
Target Facilities With Active Open Roles
Prime Healthcare Services operates hospitals across multiple states. Focus your applications on facilities with posted openings rather than cold outreach, since sponsorship decisions are tied to specific hiring managers and active requisitions within each hospital, not the corporate office.
Understand TN Status Limits for This Role
TN classification for nursing roles requires a registered nurse credential, not a nursing assistant qualification. If you hold TN status, confirm with your employer whether your role and credentials meet USCIS requirements before assuming TN coverage applies to a Nursing Assistant position.
Ask About PERM Timing Early in Negotiations
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process at DOL can take a year or more before USCIS even sees your petition. Ask the recruiter directly where the facility stands on initiating PERM so you can plan your timeline around realistic milestones.
Align OPT Employment Start Dates With Hiring Cycles
Prime Healthcare Services hires Nursing Assistants on a rolling basis, but healthcare facilities have credentialing onboarding that can take four to six weeks. If you're on F-1 OPT, request your OPT start date to account for that lag so your authorized work period isn't wasted in onboarding.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored Openings
Not all Nursing Assistant postings at Prime Healthcare Services indicate sponsorship availability in the job description. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Prime Healthcare Services roles that have a verified sponsorship history, so you're only spending time on applications where sponsorship is a real option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Prime Healthcare Services sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing Assistants?
H-1B visa sponsorship for Nursing Assistant roles is uncommon because the position is generally not classified as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is the core H-1B requirement. Prime Healthcare Services' sponsorship activity for Nursing Assistants is concentrated in the EB-2, EB-3, and TN visa categories. If permanent residency sponsorship is your goal, the EB-3 pathway is the most relevant route to discuss with a recruiter.
How do I apply for Nursing Assistant jobs at Prime Healthcare Services?
Applications go through the Prime Healthcare Services careers portal, where openings are listed by facility and location. Before applying, confirm your CNA certification is valid in the relevant state. When you connect with a recruiter, ask directly whether the specific facility is currently able to support visa sponsorship, since authorization can vary by location and budget cycle. Migrate Mate lets you filter Prime Healthcare Services postings by sponsorship history to narrow your search before applying.
Which visa types does Prime Healthcare Services commonly use for Nursing Assistant sponsorship?
Prime Healthcare Services has sponsored Nursing Assistant hires through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN status. For international candidates seeking long-term authorization, EB-3 is the most direct fit since it covers skilled and semi-skilled workers in healthcare settings. F-1 OPT is common for candidates who completed U.S.-based nursing assistant or healthcare training programs and need work authorization while transitioning to a permanent sponsorship pathway.
What qualifications does Prime Healthcare Services expect for Nursing Assistant candidates?
A current, state-issued CNA certification is the baseline requirement. Most facilities within the Prime Healthcare Services network also expect BLS certification. Prior clinical experience in an acute care or hospital setting strengthens your application significantly, since the facilities handle complex patient populations. Some postings require a minimum number of clinical hours in addition to certification, so reviewing each facility's specific job description before applying is important.
How do I estimate the timeline from offer to work authorization for a Nursing Assistant role?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT can be active within a few months if your EAD is already approved. TN status for qualifying nurses can be processed at the port of entry in a single day, though Nursing Assistants need to verify eligibility first. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves the DOL PERM process, USCIS petition review, and potentially years of priority date waiting depending on your country of birth. Ask the hiring facility which pathway they intend to use before accepting an offer.
