Align your credentials to FDA-regulated supply chains
Thermo Fisher's supply chain roles often touch regulated environments, including GMP manufacturing and controlled-substance logistics. Documenting experience in compliance-driven supply chains strengthens your specialty occupation case when USCIS reviews your H-1B petition.
Target roles tied to specific business units
Thermo Fisher posts Supply Chain Manager openings across divisions like Life Sciences Solutions and Biosciences. Filtering by division helps you find roles with active headcount budgets, where hiring managers have already secured internal approval to sponsor.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-active openings
Not every Supply Chain Manager posting at Thermo Fisher will lead to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by visa type so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship has been confirmed, saving you from pursuing dead ends.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT, raise your authorization end date early in the process. Thermo Fisher's procurement and operations teams often plan hiring quarters in advance, so your STEM OPT extension timeline directly affects whether a hiring manager will move forward.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
Thermo Fisher initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL before filing your H-1B petition. Understanding the prevailing wage tiers for Supply Chain Managers in the city where the role is based helps you negotiate an offer that satisfies DOL requirements without delay.
Request a TN assessment if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Supply Chain Manager roles can qualify under TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the position requires a qualifying degree. Ask the recruiter to evaluate TN eligibility early since it bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely and can be processed in weeks rather than months.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chain Managers?
Yes, Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsors H-1B visas for Supply Chain Manager roles. The company operates across manufacturing, distribution, and research segments that regularly require specialized supply chain expertise, and it has a documented history of supporting H-1B petitions for this function. Sponsorship availability varies by division and location, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is practical.
How do I apply for Supply Chain Manager jobs at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
Applications go through Thermo Fisher's careers portal, where roles are listed by business unit and location. To find openings that include visa sponsorship, browse Migrate Mate's job board, which filters Thermo Fisher Supply Chain Manager postings by visa type. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect experience in regulated or high-volume supply chain environments, which aligns with the company's core operations.
Which visa types does Thermo Fisher Scientific commonly use for Supply Chain Manager roles?
Thermo Fisher sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Supply Chain Manager positions. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires. The right visa category depends on your citizenship, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does Thermo Fisher Scientific expect for sponsored Supply Chain Manager roles?
Most Supply Chain Manager roles at Thermo Fisher require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, business, or a related field, which also supports the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B sponsorship. Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing, SAP or ERP systems, and cross-functional coordination with procurement or logistics teams is commonly expected given the company's life sciences and biotech operations.
How do I estimate the timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
The H-1B process begins with your employer filing a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which typically takes seven business days. Registration for the H-1B lottery opens in March, with selections made shortly after. If selected, USCIS adjudicates the petition before October 1, when the new fiscal year begins. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS review to 15 business days, which Thermo Fisher may offer depending on business need.
