The College of Music, among the largest in the nation, offers a comprehensive musical environment and unlimited opportunities for the pursuit of excellence in the musical arts for talented and dedicated musicians. The breadth of the musical experience includes the study and performance of the extended gamut of Western art music, the music of global cultures, and the creative contributions of contemporary jazz and electronic/experimental.
Position Overview
Teachers employed for this program will be scheduled to teach virtual private and group music lessons for up to 50 students in the Dallas ISD school district on their primary instrument. The hours of the position are flexible but will typically occur between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
Minimum Qualifications
Must reside in the state of Texas
Hold a BM, MM, GAC, or DMA from the College of Music at the University of North Texas
Complete fingerprinting via IdentoGo upon hire at own expense
Successfully pass Criminal History Check through Dallas ISD
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate technology.
Strong communication and presentation skills for effective online teaching
The ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
Capacity to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs and learning styles.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and track student progress.
Knowledge of Texas UIL procedures and requirements.
