ABOUT THE TEAM
The Finance Transformation Office (FTO) drives the modernization and optimization of Workday’s global finance function. At the heart of this effort is the Transformation Excellence team—responsible for leading enterprise-wide transformation governance, strategic portfolio oversight, and execution excellence across the Finance organization. By establishing effective PMO processes, this team helps ensure that Workday’s most critical initiatives are aligned to strategy, delivered with discipline, and continuously improved through world-class program management practices.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented Director of Program Management, M&A & Growth to lead complex M&A and strategic growth initiatives (new offer launches, new SKU/pricing strategies, and international market expansion) across our Finance organization. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader and proactive problem-solver who is capable of managing projects across multiple Finance functions (Revenue, Controllership, Tax), collaborating with cross-functional teams (IT, Product, Sales), driving standardization, and communicating with executive stakeholders. This role requires strong executive presence, deep financial and operational acumen, and the ability to identify, mitigate, and escalate program delivery risks to leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Drive post-close financial integration programs across accounting, treasury, tax, billing/order-to-cash, procurement, and FP&A. Curate, execute, and continuously refine repeatable M&A playbooks to accelerate future acquisitions.
- Lead planning & delivery of programs for new offer structures, product launches, pricing/packaging models, and expansion into new geographic markets.
- Bridge upstream commercial teams (Sales Ops, Product Marketing, Legal, Pricing) and downstream Finance operations (RevOps, Billing, Tax, SOX) to ensure system and process changes don't disrupt billing cycles or the revenue pipeline.
- Enable timely design decisions across financial workflows, ensuring legacy operations transition smoothly into Workday standards while maintaining financial controls and operational continuity.
- Establish frameworks, tracking, and executive reporting for growth initiatives. Design frameworks to measure value realization, financial performance, and post-launch outcomes.
- Proactively identify systemic risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks across multi-functional workstreams, developing robust mitigation strategies.
- Elevate the Finance organization’s strategic capability by developing program managers, instituting best practices, and driving standard governance principles.
ABOUT YOU
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12+ years of project/program management leadership experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional programs in corporate environments.
- 6+ years of direct experience managing end-to-end M&A financial integrations and strategic enterprise growth programs in enterprise SaaS, cloud, or high-growth technology sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated capability to bring structure to complex cross-functional challenges, uniting technical, operational, and financial stakeholders to achieve long-term M&A goals.
- Proven track record of influencing VP and C-level stakeholders, delivering transparent, outcome-focused reporting, and driving consensus under tight deal or launch timelines.
- Skilled at anticipating friction points, balancing agile execution with robust governance, and evaluating strategic choices under uncertainty.
- Solid understanding of financial cycles, internal controls (SOX), tax structures, and revenue recognition compliance in automated SaaS environments.
COMPENSATION
- Primary Location Base Pay Range: $215,200 USD - $322,800 USD

OUR APPROACH TO FLEXIBLE WORK
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Align your credentials to Workday's leadership model
Workday evaluates executive candidates against a blend of enterprise software expertise and cross-functional leadership. Before applying, audit your resume to surface experience with large-scale SaaS transformations, P&L ownership, or platform-level product strategy that maps directly to their business units.
Target roles tied to Workday's core product lines
Executive Management openings at Workday concentrate around HCM, Financials, and Platform. Narrowing your search to these pillars signals strategic fit and increases the likelihood you're entering a hiring funnel where the team has prior experience running visa sponsorship for senior hires.
Clarify sponsorship scope early in recruiter conversations
Workday sponsors H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways, but coverage varies by role seniority and business unit. Ask the recruiter directly which visa types are in scope for the specific position before investing time in later interview rounds.
Prepare for an EB-2 or EB-3 PERM timeline at offer stage
For Green Card sponsorship, Workday typically initiates the PERM labor certification process through DOL. PERM audits can extend timelines significantly, so negotiate start dates and any H-1B extension bridges with your future manager before you sign.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Executive Management openings
Workday posts executive roles across multiple channels but doesn't always flag sponsorship eligibility publicly. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Workday Executive Management positions that are open to visa sponsorship, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting each listing manually.
Document specialty occupation evidence before your H-1B filing
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for executive roles when the job description is broad. Work with Workday's immigration counsel to gather offer letters, org charts, and internal job architecture documentation that demonstrate the position requires a specific bachelor's-level field of study.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Workday sponsor H-1B visas for Executive Managements?
Yes, Workday sponsors H-1B visas for Executive Management roles. The company works with in-house and external immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions for qualifying senior hires. Because executive job descriptions can be broad, USCIS may request additional evidence that the role meets specialty occupation requirements, so strong documentation prepared before filing is important.
How do I apply for Executive Management jobs at Workday?
Applications go through Workday's careers portal. You can also find Executive Management openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which specific roles are open to sponsored candidates. Once you apply, expect a multi-stage process involving recruiter screening, panel interviews with senior leadership, and a business case or executive presentation round.
Which visa types does Workday commonly use for Executive Management roles?
Workday sponsors H-1B and TN visas for nonimmigrant work authorization, with TN available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or specialty occupations. For permanent residence, Workday supports EB-2 and EB-3 pathways through the PERM labor certification process administered by DOL. F-1 OPT and CPT sponsorship is less common at the executive level but has been used for early-career transitions into junior management tracks.
What qualifications does Workday expect for Executive Management candidates?
Workday's Executive Management roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, engineering, computer science, or finance, combined with substantial experience leading teams or functions within enterprise software or cloud technology environments. Candidates are assessed on their ability to operate in a matrixed organization, drive revenue or product outcomes, and influence cross-functional stakeholders at scale.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Workday Executive Management offer?
For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS portability rules allow you to start working once the petition is filed, not after approval. Standard H-1B processing takes three to six months, while USCIS premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. If Green Card sponsorship is part of your offer, the PERM labor certification stage alone can take 12 to 18 months before the I-140 petition is filed.
