Compliance Analyst Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance analyst in North Carolina?
Most compliance analyst roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, followed by experience in a regulated industry such as banking, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals. While North Carolina does not issue a state-specific compliance analyst license, employers in financial services frequently look for the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) credential or a FINRA-administered qualification such as the Series 65 for investment-related roles.
How much do compliance analysts make in North Carolina?
Compliance analysts in North Carolina earn a median of about $100,730 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,760 for the lowest 10% to over $166,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance analysts in North Carolina?
Employers hiring compliance analysts in North Carolina right now include UNC Health, Cone Health, and TruTechnologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. North Carolina's concentration of large banks in Charlotte and life sciences firms in the Research Triangle keeps demand for compliance professionals steady across both sectors.
Which North Carolina cities have the most compliance analyst jobs?
Durham, Raleigh, and Greensboro have the most compliance analyst openings in North Carolina. Charlotte drives volume through its density of regional and national bank headquarters and fintech operations, while Raleigh and Durham benefit from a large cluster of pharmaceutical, biotech, and university-affiliated healthcare employers in and around Research Triangle Park.
Are there remote compliance analyst jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 73% of compliance analyst openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the largely desk-based and analytical nature of the role. Policy review, regulatory research, and audit documentation are the functions most commonly performed remotely, while roles requiring on-site inspections or direct team supervision tend to be in-person.
How can I get hired as a compliance analyst in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an adjacent role such as paralegal, audit associate, or quality assurance coordinator within a North Carolina financial institution, hospital system, or pharmaceutical company. Large employers like Bank of America in Charlotte and WakeMed in Raleigh hire compliance assistants and junior regulatory affairs associates as feeder roles. Completing a CCEP Candidate designation or an ABA compliance certificate while in an entry-level position significantly strengthens a candidate's profile for internal promotion.
