Compliance Analyst Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance analyst in Illinois?
Most compliance analyst roles in Illinois require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, law, or a related field as a foundation. Illinois does not mandate a state-issued license specifically for compliance analysts, but professional certifications such as the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional are highly valued by Chicago-area financial and healthcare employers. Starting in audit, legal support, or risk administration roles within Illinois firms is the most common entry path.
How much do compliance analysts make in Illinois?
Compliance analysts in Illinois earn a median of about $93,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,800 for the lowest 10% to over $167,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance analysts in Illinois?
Employers hiring compliance analysts in Illinois right now include Amyx, Hydro, and AbbVie, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Illinois's concentration of major insurance carriers, regional banks, and healthcare systems means compliance roles open continuously across a wide range of regulated industries in the state.
Which Illinois cities have the most compliance analyst jobs?
Chicago, Rosemont, and Dixon have the most compliance analyst openings in Illinois. Chicago leads because it serves as headquarters for major financial institutions, insurance companies, and law firms, while suburban markets like Naperville and Schaumburg generate openings through the large corporate campuses and regional offices that anchor those communities.
Are there remote compliance analyst jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than many fields, because compliance analyst work is largely desk-based and document-driven. About 73% of compliance analyst openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and advisory parts of the role translate to distributed work. Policy review, regulatory research, and internal audit support are the functions most commonly offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a compliance analyst in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into compliance from an adjacent role such as paralegal, audit associate, or financial examiner, which large Illinois employers in banking and insurance regularly use as feeder positions. Firms including major Chicago-area insurers and regional banks run rotational or associate programs where candidates without direct compliance experience can start in risk operations or regulatory affairs support. Earning a foundational certification like the CCEP while in an adjacent role gives candidates a measurable edge in Illinois hiring.
Where can I find and apply to compliance analyst jobs in Illinois?
You can find and apply to compliance analyst jobs in Illinois on Migrate Mate, which lists current Illinois openings across financial services, healthcare, insurance, and other regulated sectors. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
