Overview:
As a Construction Materials and Inspections Technician for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be part of a highly trained and experienced team that performs observations and testing during earthwork and facility construction for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects (including oil and natural gas facilities). Testing areas typically include soil/rock, aggregate, asphalt and concrete.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years field experience working on construction projects performing some or all of the following inspections and/or testing
- Earthwork inspections and field testing
- Reinforced concrete inspections, sampling and field testing
- Floor flatness / levelness testing
- Foundation bearing grade inspections
- Structural steel inspections including welded and bolted connections
- Cold-formed metal framing inspections
- Structural wood framing inspections
- Reinforced concrete masonry unit inspections and mortar and grout testing
- Spray applied fireproofing and intumescent coatings testing and inspections
- Ability to interpret codes and standards, geotechnical reports, project plans and specifications
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to write accurate and concise field reports
- Willingness to travel periodically for out-of-town assignments
CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION:
- NICET, ICC, and ACI certifications
- Associates degree preferred
