Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Contract Administrator in Boca Raton, FL.
The Contract Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). Responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering a wide range of sponsored research agreements. Ensures compliance with federal, state, sponsor, and institutional requirements, while fostering effective communication and strong working relationships with faculty, staff, sponsors, and collaborators.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, redline, and negotiate externally funded research agreements, amendments, and non-financial agreements such as NDAs and MOUs from federal, state, foundation, and local government agencies.
- Works with FAU General Counsel and coordinates with other internal offices such as Export Control, IT, Research Integrity, Technology Development to address intellectual property, indemnification, publication rights, data use, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance (Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), etc.).
- Obtain required legal approvals for contractual documents and facilitate their execution in accordance with delegated signature authority.
- Serve as backup for the issuance of outgoing subaward and the complete subaward process.
- Serve as a resource to OSP staff and stakeholders on complex contracting issues and interpretation of contractual terms.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal contract and subaward processes in alignment with university policies and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, documentation, and electronic files related to contracts and outgoing subawards.
- Stay current on evolving federal and state regulations, sponsor requirements, and institutional policies.
- Attend relevant regional meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as appropriate.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines required.
Knowledge of federal, state, and sponsor regulations, including Uniform Guidance required.
Demonstrates experience in contract management, contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance required.
Preferred experience in contract negotiation, research administration, or grants management.
Salary:
$65,000 - $72,000 annually.
