Customer Success Engineer Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer success engineer in Michigan?
Customer success engineer roles in Michigan do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most Michigan employers expect a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering, combined with hands-on experience in a customer-facing technical role. Certifications from Salesforce, AWS, or similar platforms strengthen applications considerably. Many candidates in Michigan transition from technical support, solutions engineering, or software implementation positions at the state's large enterprise tech and automotive software employers.
Which companies hire customer success engineers in Michigan?
Employers hiring customer success engineers in Michigan right now include MSC Industrial Supply, Pregis, and Eltropy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's concentration of automotive technology firms, health IT companies, and enterprise SaaS providers keeps consistent demand for the role across both established corporations and growth-stage software companies headquartered in the state.
Which Michigan cities have the most customer success engineer jobs?
Michigan, Detroit, and Grand Rapids have the most customer success engineer openings in Michigan. Detroit and its suburbs drive the largest volume, reflecting the headquarters and regional offices of automotive tech, fintech, and enterprise software firms concentrated in the metro, while Ann Arbor's density of SaaS startups and health IT companies and Grand Rapids' growing manufacturing technology sector account for strong posting activity outside the main metro.
Are there remote customer success engineer jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. Customer success engineering is largely desk-based and digitally delivered, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 57% of customer success engineer openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the broader SaaS industry's distributed work culture. The portions of the role most commonly performed remotely include onboarding calls, platform walkthroughs, and ongoing account check-ins.
How can I get hired as a customer success engineer in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a technical support or implementation specialist role into customer success engineering. Michigan employers such as Quicken Loans technology teams, Stryker, and mid-size Ann Arbor SaaS firms regularly post associate customer success or technical onboarding roles that serve as on-ramps. Earning a foundational Salesforce Administrator or AWS Cloud Practitioner certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge, and Michigan's dense network of B2B software companies means lateral moves from support or QA are common and well recognized.
Where can I find and apply to customer success engineer jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to customer success engineer jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current Michigan openings across the state's major metros and industries. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and preferred location or work arrangement, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
